In the collegial Saint-Martin XIIe XIVe century, of Brive-la Gaillarde, dedicated to Saint-Martin the Spaniard, evangelist of the area in Ve century, and died for its faith by lapidation; TREASURE
of the Saint-Martin church:

Chalice, built by the goldsmith Pierre Rousseau, in Paris, in 1644-1645, pertaining in 1645 to Gabrielle of Beaufort-Canillac, higher of the convent of Bénédictines de Bonnesaigne of 1605 to 1651.

Bust reliquary of Sainte-Claire of Sat of XIIIe century allotted to a workshop of the Limousin. Conceived to receive the
RELIQUARY of XIIIe century, in the almond shape, said phylactère of Sainte-Claire and Sainte-Valérie, realized in the Limousin in XIIIe century, on which one sees the miracle of Sainte-Valerie presenting his head at Saint-Martial and below Saint-François presenting the marks at Sainte-Claire.

Brive-la-Gaillarde is a French commune of the south-west of France, sub-prefecture of Corrèze, populated of 49 600 Brivistes, divided on 49 km², that is to say a density of 1 011 hab./km².

It was initially a Gallic borough of the name of Briva Curretia, Gallic "briva", which means bridge, occupied by the Romans at the 1st century, evangelized by Martin saint the Spaniard at the 5th century, made up in commune at the 12th century.
Brive-la-Gaillarde is called, in occitan Briva Galharda. It is known as "Gaillarde" because fortified, of Latin "Galia" meaning the force. In XVIe century the city was surrounded of a roughcast enclosure of turns.
The Town of Brive-la-Gaillarde was the first town of France to being released by its own means at the time of the Second World war, August 15, 1944, and received for this reason the Military Cross 1939-1945.

Salut Joël,
Une composition excellente avec ces deux trésors ecclésiastiques. Les couleurs dorées sont magnifiques et tous les détails sont appréciés très bien puisque tu as obtenu une grande résolution. Tu si tu es un maître que chaque jour me surprend avec ses photos.
De bonnes nuits et que tu passes une semaine jolie dans laquelle je ne serai pas par ici, bien que demain si j'ai un temps j'entrerai encore avant de sortir pour Barcelone.

Wonderful pieces you have here.Did you take the photos from behing the glass? They're very good, with very good colours, light and definition. That little saint claire is really amazing.Did they let you take the photos? Generally they are very affraid when they see people taking photos of sacred art.
