Very often the artists when they have an good idea then they multiply it many times. I have seen already similar sculptures in some places, for instance at MIT in Boston. Probably this one is the biggest.
It is El Alma del Ebro (The Soul of Ebro) by Jaume Plensa, in the area of Zaragoza EXPO 2008 site. It is splendid place with interesting modern architecture. Unfortunately the most emblematic, Zaha Hadid's Bridge Pavilion looks abandoned, it is closed anyway.

El Alma del Ebro was created for the International Exposition in Zaragoza, the theme of which was "Water and Sustainable Development". It is eleven meters high, the sculpted letters representing cells of the human body which is over 60% water. Its white letters and hollow structure invite the viewer to look inside and reflect on the relationship between human beings and water.

Hello Malgo,

Well, I was immediately impressed by this modern sculpture and I love how well it sits with the futuristic buildings in the b/g. The silver/blue tones blend together beautifully.

We often refer to figures adding scale to a photograph and that is perfectly true in your photograph. A very fine composition.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Malgo,
A fascinating and enormous piece of artwork. You have framed the shot well making an interesting juxtaposition with the background architecture. The kids messing about at the moment are a fine plus point. Very good technical realisation. Have a nice Sunday.

Hello Malgo,

The skateboarders add scale to gigantic sculpture made entirely from alphabet letters. Impeccable sharpness and density levels. The blue sky makes a fine backdrop with the white head of the sculpture. Tfs!

Hello Malgo,
I don't remember if I have seen this particular sculpture but the style is well known. It's a good work of art and it fits the style of the building perfectly. Children in colourful clothes will fit anything anywhere. You have combined an interesting sculpture and attractive architecture very nicely.
Kind regards,
Gert

Philippe

Hello Malgo, isn't it great to be able to see works of art when you are out and about in cities.
This is a fantastic piece; I love the concept using the letters, and also that you are able to see through it.It must make for some interesting shadows when the light is right.
The children add to the composition with colour and providing scale.
Excellent!
Regards Jean.

Czec Malgosiu!
Trudno to nazwac rzezba ale robi wrazenie.
Postaci dzieci mowia o wielkosci tej instalacji.
Dobry kadr i kolorystyka.
Milego popoludnia.
Krzysztof

The kids at the foot of the impressive letters-statue gave scale to appreciate the size of it, Malgo.
Fabulous statue by its "posture", the idea, and the superior light upon.
Take full advantage of those elements and condition, placed against the modern walls of the museum.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hello Malgo
This sculpture maybe suggests that the word is one of the greatest human forces.
Interesting and special sculpture located in a modern environment.

Regards
Pedro

Hello Malgo,
I've also seen this sculpture before, and it's great. I like that you had a bright, blue sky, and it created interesting shadows on the ground, too. We can also see how large this piece is from the children skating below it. I like the WS view, too.

pozdrawiam Ryszard

Hi malgo,

Hi Malgo
I have now officially put Zaragoza on my travel map!
looking at the photos from this city on TE, yours, others, and Juan's (jfs), its a place I'd fall in love with. Imagine me here with my wide angle lens, i'd go crazy :)

love this sculpture, we have one just like it as well in Vancouver, near the water.

and yes, this one is very large indeed. so cute to have the children playing around, and the modern building in the bg is fantastic as well. Same goes for the blue sky for colour and contrast. so much to enjoy here, Now I want to visit!
cheers
Craig

Hello Malgo
It is difficult to choose which of all the excellent and interesting pictures of you, I missed the last weeks by doing other things, I’ll give my todays point. At last I decided for this magnificent combination of architecture, art and playing children.
A spectacular combination. Other choices will follow next days, I promise.
Have a nice day
Groet Rob

Hello Malgo,
This is a very nice nice sculpture, it looks like huge 3D lacework. I also like the modern building in the background.
Regards,
MT
PS. No, I did not fly in the Piper, they were just showing them on the ground.
