|Intro:||Hi I live at Narrabeen on the Northern Beaches in Sydney Australia. I discovered TE while surfing the net doing research for a Travel/Cooking/Wine TV series. Have to tell you I'm seriously intimidated by the standard of shots on TE, there are a lot of very talented people here. I'm so glad I found the site and signed up, its a real buzz. Now all I have to do is start shooting, shooting, shooting........and practice, practice, practice.|
What an extraordinary site this is, I'm amazed at the range of wonderful photographs displayed here by people from all over the world with one common interest, photography. Just blows me away.
Update 15th January 2010
Whew, finally 100 posts, I never thought I would get here it has taken so long.
In the grand scheme of things, 100 posts isn’t that much of a milestone here on TE. Looking through the galleries there are so many members that have posted hundreds and hundreds of images, but for me it has been an exciting, challenging and invigorating experience each time I’ve put one of my images on the site. TE has given me a new focus (pardon the pun) on my photography. Until I discovered TE I had just been a “happy snapper”, I had not paid much attention to all of the technical attributes that go into producing a half reasonable image, TE changed all that, no sorry, it was the TE members who changed all that. Starting from my first post I received good constructive criticism of my shot, since then the critiques have continued, all of them valuable and much appreciated.
I’ve received so much help from so many members I guess it isn’t fair to single one person out but I have to. Nelu Goia has been both a teacher and friend to me, he’s emailed me links to tutorials, he’s taken the time to write me very detailed notes on how to do all sorts of technical stuff and he’s been honest with me. Thank you Nelu for all your help.
Thank you to all the other members who have made the time and taken the effort to give me honest appraisals of my continuing attempts to take a half decent shot, I am in your debt
