|Intro:||I am a retired journalist from Stockholm. I had been working since 1984 as a foreign news reporter with the major Swedish news agency until I quit in September 2010. After that i freelanced part-time for a foreign policy think-tank until October 2017, when I finally retired completely.|
Travelling has been my passion since long ago, mainly in various parts of Asia and Africa. In recent years I have spent more time travelling in Europe, especially in the southeastern part of the continent.
I bought my first digital camera in 2006. For many years I had been carrying heavy and expensive equipment that hurt my shoulders and sometimes attracted thieves. Finally I reached a point when I decided I would either have to settle for something lightweight and discreet or no camera at all. Now the only thing that matters to me is that my camera should fit my pocket. I don't care if that means less perfect pictures.
For the past few years I have also been busy scanning some of the thousands of old slides I have stored in my wardrobe. Digging through the boxes and finding pictures I haven't seen for decades has given me a lot of pleasant surprises.
