|An extreme close-up of the fireworks display put on by my little New Jersey town every year on the 4th of July.|
This was actually my first serious attempt at photographing fireworks. When I did research beforehand I read that the shutter should be kept open for 3 or 4 seconds, but I quickly discovered that both settings resulted in an over-exposed shot. A 1 second exposure seemed to work just fine. Perhaps the 3 or 4 seconds would have worked if I'd been using a wide-angle lens instead of zooming in.
It was actually raining lightly throughout the fireworks - my husband had to hold an umbrella over me and my tripod while I shot away. Luckily the raindrops did not show up in the photo!

I like the effect you captured here. There is an interesting mix of lines and colors. Seeing the fireworks from this POV, with the one second exposure creates an abstract kind of view.
