Water-spout mains intended to evacuate far from the walls the great volumes of rainwater collected by the extended roofs from the Romance buildings then Gothic appeared in XIIème century following the simple gutters. Architects multiplied the water-spout mains to divide the flows. This inspired the sculptors who make them decorative. They at the same time massive and are hurled, that forced to cut them in materials of strong resistance to prevent breaking. Very diverse inspirations, they represent an imaginary and fantastic bestiary. None resembles another.
