The Honen Fertility Festival in Komaki City. It is a festival dedicated to fruitful harvest and fertility in the coming year. The temple has a room full of many Phallus in all sizes. During the festival everyone loves to pose by this huge phallus that weights around 470 Kilos.

It takes about ten men to carry this during the parade route. They are drunk on sake and about every 100 meters they spin around several times very fast.

This Festival is so much fun because of all the free Sake that is given out. I ended up getting drunk and taking two square wooden sake cups and rice cakes that were thrown out by celeberties.

The day before this festival there is actually another festival at a nearby temple dedicated to the female fertility. The female part is made of a huge rice cake.

Many young couples go to both temples to pray for having babies. You can see many pregnant woment visiting both temples.

Hello Again
(mister 645 mamiya)

It is a real fun to see image of this famous fertility matsuri...
I think every year more and more foreigners visit this festival...
But Strange...Not any comment on TE...Are they shock...???
Are people blind...Or may be they have just a "post card" vision about Japan

Thank You
