Welcome to Operaen

And here is my second picture of my Operaen-series. You can see my first shot here.
On this piture you can see the three entrances of Operaen next to each other and the big glass facade above it.

Operaen has been built between June 2001 and October 2004 and opened in January 2005. The building is located on the island of Holmen, north of Christianshavn and opposite to the Royal Palace Amalienborg and Marmorkirken (Marble Church). The architect behind this project is Henning Larsen.
Operaen is a donation to the Danish state by A.P. Møller and Chastine McKinney-Møller Foundation. Møller was the co-founder of the company Maersk.

This glass facade is located directly opposite to the Amalienborg and Marmorkirken.
The houses reflected in the glass are located at Tolbodgade, the white building on the left hand side of the picture is the head quater of the company Maersk.

I hope you like this picture.
To be continued.

Hi Lars, I like the shot of this big mirroring effect in this picture. We can see the inside through the glass wall as well as the reflections to view the buildings reflected from the glass wall in different levels. This picture is especially attractive together with your last posting. A very well taken picture with sharpness and depth. Well done

Hoi Lars,
Mooi weekend Lars.
John.

a really wonderful photo with so much information. the pavement leads us to explore the intricacies of your photo and the details reflected and with in the strucutre too. the reflections are great and a bit surreal adding to the richness of the photo. the curve of the building is so good.

Hi Lars, nice front view of this imposing building. the glass facade have some nice distorted reflections of the adjacent buildings. Well captured!

Regards, Christian

Hi Lars. Technically a great shot with good reflections. Perhaps the POV could altered for more impact but it's still good work Lars.

Bonsoir Lars,
Cathédrale de verre et d'acier où l'on représente de grands airs d'opéra. Je ne sais toujours pas si l'acoustique est de qualité (mais je suppose que les acousticiens ont mûrement réfléchi au problème).
Impressionnant !
Bien fait.
Amitiés.
Philippe

A ghood volume with the curve and the glass and a nice parralelism.
Beazutiful compositions with a reflection in colors at the first floor.
I like this modern building (Thanks again for the note)
Jean Michel

Hey Lars!
This is a very interesting facing front - the distorsion fits very good to this composition.
Great work!
Cheers,
Thorsten

Hoi Lars,
I like the tight framing in this picture,
pleasant colors and excellent sharpnes,- clarity. The reflections are a fine detail!
It´s a good architecture image!

You show us very interesting places with a great note. This object is fine; I like the reflections from the glass wall. Well captured!
Regards.

You have captured this imposing building very well. It is good we can see part of the interior as well as some reflections.
Kath

Hi Lars,
Good shot of this massive building. I like the tight composition and the reflections. Well done

I look forward to seeing the next one...

Ha, ha, ha. I have seen so many pictures with you in a reflection that this time I have been looking if I could see you. No sucess. Not very bad, but the picture is tilted to the right. I like this impressive facade filling all the picture and all the reflections. More I like those that are below showing beautiful buildings of the city. I wonder what are the yellow balls reflected on the first stage. The look like big Svaroski figures.

Hola Lars.
Very nice view from this impressive building.
Excellent architecture, the glass facade produces an interesting reflection. In the first floor you are able to see some of the old buildings of the city, in the second floor you can see the interior area with beautiful lamps.
Very well captured.
Well done.

Hi Lars,
with so many reflexes... where is the photographer ??! ;-D))
And no peoples at all!
The geometry of the architecture is nice, a little dark but i think that with a full sunlight can be impossible to shot.
And thanks even for the rich note, as your standard!
ciao, Giorgio

Hi Lars,
I like this picture, it's very graphical...I don't know exactly why..but it looks cool to me! I also like the fact that there is nobody in front of it... well done, Léonie greetings

Lars, bonjour !
J'aime les lignes et les couleurs de cette photo mais je trouve un peu terne l'ensemble. Pour réveiller l'ensemble il suffirait de faire contraste automatique puis niveaux automatique et enfin encore une fois contraste automatique avec PhotoFiltre.
Amicalement
Jacques

Hej Lars,
I'm back to this marvellous building.
Good detail of the entrance, which resulted on a very graphic picture. The strong horizontally is 'broke' by the round shape of the façade and that is very nice to fell in here. Although I feel some lack of colour, it's a good architetural shot, with interesting details and reflections. Your notes are allways excellent. Congratulations and thanks a lot for sharing!
Hilsner,
Ricardo
