Back outside Calatrava's latest masterpiece, the Oculus, a trio of tiny people appeared.

When viewed from a distance, this large structure resembles a bird in flight. You can see at the top of the frame how the beams curve outward. They form part of what looks like a wing. From inside, it looks more like the bones of a dinosaur. :-)

Hello Brenda,
Amazing photo of the Oculus, I don't remember seeing it from this angle, but it was still partly under construction when we were there almost two years ago. If we could've walked here, I'm sure we would have done that, so this area was probably still fenced off. Well, we always can try again this summer (I just replied to your comment to my photo). The architecture looks fantastic here and I very much like the reflections too. The people are very well included, adding a great sense of scale.

Hello Brenda,
Another splendid presentation in a very attractive composition!
The people don't only give us a good idea of the size of the Oculus but luckily they're all three dressed in dark clothes.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Brenda, Amazing construction, I would love to see it and make some photos. It is a photographers heaven like other Calatrava constructions. Fot me it reminds me rather fish skeleton. these tiny silhouettes indicate the scale .

Kind regards Malgo

Hello Brenda,
Again these persons are essential for an understanding of the dimensions of this building. The white beams form a very elegant pattern of straight lines and curves and the large windows provide very attractive reflections. We can also see the lights inside the building. This photo really shows us several dimensions.
Kind regards,

An excellent composition and nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

Dear Brenda,

I feel that I have been to every part of the Oculus already, as many TE members have shown photos of this interesting building. Anyway, this particular image has a very strong graphic effect. I really like the result.

Best Wishes,

Hello Brenda,
Another topclass architectorial capture in your gallery.
This recent series goes very well. Also this one is a perfect sample for a perfect pov.
TFS and best regards

Hi Brenda
I always thought it looks like a whale tale, but thats the larger overview pov...so i can understand what you mean by the bones of a dinosaur. for obvious reasons, the 3 people here are vital, they look so tiny. another cool visual, love seeing these funky shots! cheers

Hi Brenda

A great Oculus series, the inclusion of people is essential to get a sense of scale. The reflections are intriguing here too.

Hello Brenda
Fascinating to see some Oculus views I missed two years ago, or maybe were not yet available that time. I think you can discover always new impressions every new visit. A new visit to the Oculus is certainly on out schedule if we visit NY again this year and I hope we will be able to meet you again.
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hello Brenda, this is a wonderful building, and this point of view where the beams fill the screen is excellent.
The tiny people give us a great idea of the scale and are valuable focal points to keep our eyes moving around.
Lovely work.
Regards Jean.

Hello Brenda,

The three dark human figures are essential to judge the scale and size of this building. Good sharpness and excellent minimalist color with good reflections. Tfs!

Oi, Brenda!

Belo trabalho.
Parabéns e Abraço,

Hello Brenda,

Some modern day buildings, this one included, are so exciting to see and photograph.
You can create completely different impressions, depending upon your viewpoint and angle.
I like how well you have revealed the outward curve and composed the whole so well.

Thanks for sharing this,
Bev :-)
