|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|This was taken at the Moorten Botanical Garden and Cactarium in Palm Springs. The site of a former hotel which was demolished in the 50s, this site has been in operation for more than 60 years. There are about 3,000 individual specimens here, in addition to the doves and a few tortoises. Local wildlife can also be seen. The garden also sells some very unique specimens (of course, I went home with one!), as well as some locally-produced pottery and other handicrafts. It's well worth a visit to see the amazing, often alien-looking local flora and the other exhibits, including some old mining equipment, fossil dinosaur footprints (!) and a lovely little casita, where weddings and other events are sometimes held.|
