Collicola Palazzo is the homonymous square.
The Collicola family came from the castle of Montesanto, his luck began with Taddeo Collicola, physician of Pope Urban VIII in the first half of the seventeenth century and grew in the following century. The lavish aristocratic building was built between 1717 and 1730, the Roman architect Sebastiano Cipriani, and was inhabited by wealthy Collicola until the extinction of the family. The Palace had over time illustrious guests like Charles of Bourbon (1734), Pope Pius VI (1782) and Carlo Emanuele IV King of Sardinia (1801). Estinti the Collicola, the building was purchased by the city of Spoleto in 1932; now houses the museum of visual arts Carandente already Civic Gallery of Modern Art.
The very sober façade is divided horizontally into three rows of windows that correspond to the inner planes. The rear elevation has suffered serious deterioration; original Italian garden survive only a few battered trees. The interior retains the main floor a series of rooms with painted wooden ceilings, and a magnificent gallery entirely decorated with exquisite eighteenth-century tempera. The original furnishings, which once adorned the palace has been entirely removed: included important works of painting and sculpture of the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth century and a series of tapestries from the legacy of Christina of Sweden, currently under restoration .

What a beautiful corridor in the palace, I like the richly decorated vault and ornamental doors, fantastic play of light reflections, excellent management of light
regards Ryszard

Hello Silvio,
This is a perfectly framed view of the beautiful gallery with the elegantly painted ceiling. The light is cleverly handled and the diagonal lines of bright light on the floor are very eye-catching.
Kind regards,
Gert

ciao Silvio,

Des détails de toute beauté.

Bonne soirée

Excellent work

Hello Silvio,
Wow, this is an extraordinary beautiful hall.
Such a richly and very colourful decorated ceiling, walls, doors and columns.
Where the floor looks more 'normal' you solved this by the different light strips that provide nice patterns on the tiles.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Silvio,

I like the perspective created by bthe length of the corridor. The point of view is showing the details of the ceiling and of the pillars. It is clear and precise. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Ciao Silvio,
Excellent take inside the long and beautifully decorated corridor.
The paintings get good light from the outside and the rays graphically "painted" the floor made a nice pattern.
Buona giornata,
Ike

Hi Silvio
Wonderful capture consisting of repetitive arches and columns giving a smooth feeling of depth blended by subtle clarity and colours. The side lighting works wonder here to cast the long shadows amplifying the elements as an essential focal point. Excellent capture, Congrats
Best regards

Ciao caro Silvio,

Wow, you have used the light to great advantage to make light/shadow patterns on the corridor and also, to reveal the spectacular decorations on the roof.
I like your chosen aspect, which guides well and creates a fine sense of perspective.
A most beautiful place!

Have a great day,
Bev :-)

Parabéns e grande abraço

Hello Silvio,
Another fabulous photo with arches. I love the colorful decorations and the play between shadow and light. I think I'll snatch it to my Arches theme.
Regards,
MT
