My last "Zombie" photo from the Melbourne Zombie Shuffle. I promise. They all seem to be women. Or ex-women returned to horrify us.

This one shows that even middle aged people like to dress up as Zombies. I've always had the view that "playing dress-ups" is a deep and powerful impulse in the human psyche. A lot of it is in fun, but much of it is also associated with conformity and authoritarianism. Either way, why is it that humans love to wear both fancy dress and uniforms?

Hi Andrew
I'm a big fan of zombie films so these marches intrigue me, especially the amazing level of detail that people put into them. Brilliant portrait and the ladies expression is perfect. Really nicely captured, the umbrella is a great touch
Cheers
Noel

Hello Andrew,

Why the last zombie? It looks so interesting. The people there had so much creative invention. This lady here looks like dead with her expression. Fantastic portrait. I would like to see also more of this skull on the right side.

Twas a fine series to follow. This particular zombie looks a bit bored, bored to death perhaps. But he still makes a great picture. Thanks for the series, Andrew.

I am not a big fan of zombies and zombie stories, but I find your photo very good as an excelent portrait, very well taken with all rich details and the zombie atmosphere :)

Hello Andrew

Uniforms for conformity; fancy dress for the opposite, maybe. Having photographed the Venice Carnevale, I'm convinced that masks in particular free the wearers from themselves, and allow a degree of licence and outrageousness that they wouldn't otherwise permit themselves. Great shot this: I particularly like the eye contact. Did (s)he get you??

Will
