For quite a long time I wanted to go somewhere with the drone. But where to? Near Warsaw there are no spectacular views. Finally I decided to go to Czersk, 30 km south of Warsaw, to make shots of the ruins of the castle. It is fun to make pictures with a drone. And quite an original way to make selfies. The composition is not specially good but on the small display of mobile it is a bit difficult to see.

The Masovian dukes castle in Czersk was built on the turning point of the fourteenth and fifteenth century, by Duke Janusz I. When the Masovian land became part of the Kingdom of Poland - which was under the rule of Queen Bona Sforza. Primarily, the castle had three towers, one of them - being four-sided, was used as the main gate house.[2]

During the war with the Swedes, in 1656, the castle became partly ruined. The retreating land army, close to Warta, under Stefan Czarniecki's commandhad captured the stronghold and had devastated it. The castle went through a reconstruction between 1762–1766, when Marszałek Franciszek Bieliński had commanded the reconstruction of the stronghold. However, due to the Prussian Partition, the Prussian leader had ordered for the demolition of the castle's defense walls, reducing the stronghold's military importance. From that time, nobody had every again took on the reconstruction of the castle. From the once mighty stronghold, all of the towers; a brick bridge from the eighteenth century; and the north and east wing of the castle had all survived.

Isthis yourself up on the turret, Malgo?
Wonderful idea to take photos witha drone, quite amazing tech's.
Fine outcome of the smallest details on the castle red-bricks built and the green around.
I find the composition very good in all 3 pic.s, cheers.

Hello Malgo,
This is a fine photo. The scenery is beautiful and the towers look great. The red bricks contrast nicely to the green and yellowish surroundings. You are small enough in this photo to stick within the rules of the site, I should hope. I see you show a ws which you should have kept as an official upload, so I hope you will at least use the other one tomorrow.
Kind regards,

Hello Malgo,
Somehow, I do not imagine you with a drone, but I suppose it avoids the vertigo:-) This is an excellent choice for a subject. Te composition is excellent, having a very agreeable balance to it. Superb colours and clarity and wonderful depth. And, beautiful warm/cool colour contrasts. I look forward to more pictures made with your new toy. Drones are frowned on in France, particularly in the light of the present security threat; the French also have concerns regarding privacy. I think it would be difficult to find suitable subjects here.

Hi dear Malgo,

Gosh, I never realised that you had a drone - I always thought it was only young fellows like Craig (and Richard!) who had these modern contraptions!

You must be very expert at flying this drone because this is a perfectly composed photograph in which we can clearly see the photographer perched high on a walkway near the top of the nearest tower!

A beautifully composed aerial shot in which we see three quite different towers all lined up along a strong diagonal with the surrounding near trees and distant landscape stretched out beyond beneath a lovely sky.

Glorious light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

And, of course, a fascinating note.

Kind Regards,

Czesc Malgosiu!
Kiedys wsiasc do samolotu i zrobic zdjecie to bylo cos, dzis nie ma problemu.
Widze, ze ogarniasz nowe sposoby fotografowania.
Ladny widok, fajne ceglane mury.
W tym kociolku to Ty?

Ciao Malgo,

Tout un beau point de vue sur les deux tours. Une ronde et une carrée. La personne à l'intérieur de la ronde donne une bonne relation dimensionnelle.Superbe arrière plan.

Dear Malgo,

So now you have a drone. Nice first try. Have you thought about taking a drone selfie?

Best Wishes,

Hi Malgo
welcome to the DRONE world! haha!
great to see you posting drone shots.

If I were not posting UK photos right now, I'd be posting local Vancouver shots from my drone...but that will come after i'm done posting from Ireland.

wonderful views from about 100 feet up i think? we get a real sense of the round shape of the caslte walls and of the surrounding areas. this puts a smile on my face :)

Can't wait to post more drone shots and to see more from you too.

Hello Malgo,
a fascinating way to explore the site from above, find original viewpoints and show details and combinations of features that wouldn't be seen together in any other way. I like very much the sense of height, depth and movement, it's great to see the three towers in a row, the vast landscape and the photographer as part of her own composition. A very intriguing scene with lovely, moody colours. The workshop pictures enrich our perspective. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,

Czesc Malgorzata,
No tak drony zrewolucjonizuja TrekEarth :)
Znowu mnie zaskakujesz -narzekalas ze w okolicach Warszawy niewiele jest do zrobienia a tu jednak interesujace ruiny, ktorych nazwe slyszalem ale jakos nie pamietalem do czego sie ona odnosi...
Ciekawa czerwono zielona kolorystyka.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie,

Ciao Malgo
la moda dei droni sta dilagando!!!!
Ma i risultati si vedono, punti di vista incredibili e foto originali, in questo modo si possono ripetere tutte le foto già fatte in precedenza, ma cambiando punto d'osservazione.

Hi Emka,
Excellent photo and original POV from your drone, interesting tower and also for the photo with the contrast of colors between monument and green landscape around. Tfs.

Good morning,
Fine panoramic view of the old fortifications and towers. Quite a view from up there, well taken.

Dobar dan.
Lep pogled, interesantan i dobar tekst ...
Dobar rad sa lepim fotografijama u radionici, dobar kompozicija, perspektiva i kontrast, lepe boje, lepo pokazano, lepa panorama.

Beautiful old architecture and nature, beautiful moment with clouds that are coming and bringing rain.
Have a nice and successful day, all the best, good luck.

Hello Malgo
I didn’t know that you have a drone too. I’ve seen some dronies from Craig before, but I can’t remember one of you. This is a succesful experiment with an excellent POV.
A realise that dronies can also easy be selfies. Maybe an interesting theme for the most modern photographer on TE.
Groet Rob

Hello, Malgorzata,
Judging from your picture, taken using a drone, you're at the peak of technological progress. My congratulations! I like the result. Despite the overcast sky the picture is rather colorful and of good quality. I hope to see more hi-tech images shot by you.
Best regards,

PS: I think that in the fragment from your note "to go to Czersk, 30 km south of Warsaw" the words '30' and 'south' should be revised. I'd change them to '300' and 'north-west'. But maybe I am wrong.

Hello Malgo,

A fantastic drone shot of the castle and the drone operator. Good sharpness and the red brick color contrasts well against the blue grey sky. Tfs!

Witaj MAlgo,
nice the view of this section of the castle taken from the flying drone.I like the view as the presentation of the two towers as the endless view of the region.

Witaj Malgorzata When I was a kid, I used to climb to my 'thinking tree' and imagine I could once fly like a bird to see the world from a different angle...! How lucky are you for realizing so beautifully my innocent dreams. Pozdrawiam. Robert
