Thiên Mụ Pagoda (Chùa Thiên Mụ), Huế, Viet Nam.

Built on a hill overlooking the Perfume River, this pagoda is an icon of Vietnam. The 21m-high octagonal tower, Thap Phuoc Duyen , was constructed under the reign of Emperor Thieu Tri in 1844. But Thien Mu Pagoda was originally founded in 1601 by Nguyen Hoang, governor of Thuan Hoa province. Over the centuries its buildings have been destroyed and rebuilt several times. The pagoda itself has seven stories and is the tallest religious building in Vietnam. The temple is often the subject of folk rhymes about Huế, such is its iconic status and association with the city. It is regarded as the unofficial symbol of the former imperial capital.

By the way, that isn't dirt on my sensor, but swarms of dragonflies!

Hello Will,
The foreground columns seemingly leaning inwards as a result of perspective distortion make an interesting and attractive for the pagoda. I like the presence of the people enlivening the scene. Excellent lights, colours and clarity.

Hello Will,
The pillars are leaning heavily but it is nevertheless a very well balanced photo from this iconic place. I was lucky to find a monk for the foreground when I was there, but the tourists are better than having nobody at all. Is the old Austin, used by the first monk to go to Saigon to burn himself to death, still there? I saw it in 1993. (Not that it was very interesting as such.)
Kind regards,

Bonjour Will,

J'aime beaucoup cette composition.Le point de vue en contre plongée ainsi que le bon choix de la lentille est du plus bel effet. Superbe symétrie et belle utilisation du ciel comme arrière plan.

Hello Will,

Two pillars in foreground in a vertical perspective is very well done
The Thiên Mụ Pagoda makes your picture nice
Pleasant panoramic view about the area.
Very well done, TFS.

Best regards,

Hello Will,
I`m not a big fan of converging verticals but on this occasion admire their use in framing the very impressive Pagoda.
Admirable colour reproduction in a well balanced photograph.
Best regards Les.

Hello Will ,
O be honest , I must say that I ws not especially attracted by the thumbnail . But When I've open it , I 've enjoyed the view of the pagoda framed by the two square columns , in an impressive perspective . The fly of dragonflies is a funny bonus .

Hello, Will!

The temple is beautiful, and the POV is great to show it, with these two towers growing from the corners of the image! Wonderful composition! Very well done!

Dear Will,

Hello again, it is really a good composition, I like how you used the parapet and the two poles as a frame, where people can walk in and out.

Best Regards,

Hi Will!
This is such a nice city! I visited it in 2008 and I was really sad because it rained for many days when I visited the region and it was in November. It's good to see it with such nice weather. I like the composition and the tourists also add a lot.
