Traveling for Alexandria a coastal town of Egypt, and during a bus stop,i saw this man to looks for the problem of his vehicle's tire.Saw me,he posed for me with a huge smile...from his big heart.

You can see here a larger, sharper and more detailed version of the photo.

Alexandria

Alexandria Arabic: الإسكندرية al-Iskandariyyah; Egyptian Arabic: اسكندرية Eskendereyyah; is the second largest city and a major economic centre in Egypt, extending about 32 km (20 mi) along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the north central part of the country. It is also the largest city lying directly on the Mediterranean coast. Its low elevation on the Nile delta makes it highly vulnerable to rising sea levels. Alexandria is Egypt's largest seaport, serving approximately 80% of Egypt's imports and exports. It is an important industrial center because of its natural gas and oil pipelines from Suez. Alexandria is also an important tourist destination.

Alexandria was founded around a small Ancient Egyptian town c. 331 BC by Alexander the Great. It became an important center of the Hellenistic civilization and remained the capital of Hellenistic and Roman and Byzantine Egypt for almost 1000 years until the Muslim conquest of Egypt in AD 641, when a new capital was founded at Fustat (later absorbed into Cairo). Hellenistic Alexandria was best known for the Lighthouse of Alexandria (Pharos), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; its Great Library (the largest in the ancient world; now replaced by a modern one); and the Necropolis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. Alexandria was the second most powerful city of the ancient world after Rome. Ongoing maritime archaeology in the harbor of Alexandria, which began in 1994, is revealing details of Alexandria both before the arrival of Alexander, when a city named Rhacotis existed there, and during the Ptolemaic dynasty.

From the late 18th century, Alexandria became a major center of the international shipping industry and one of the most important trading centers in the world, both because it profited from the easy overland connection between the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, and the lucrative trade in Egyptian cotton.

Good day.
An interesting moment, a good article about
Alexandria, with a history and description ...
Good work nicely shown the man and torn truck tires, good contrast and sharpness, well caught moment.
The man has a big problem and a nice smile on his face.
Have a nice day, all the best for the weekend, good luck.
Paja.

Bonjour, cher ami Danos,
L'image est amusante et impressionnante. J'ai l'impression que la roue ne sera pas réparée de si tôt. Moment décisif en effet !
Très bonne prise de vue.
Amitiés.
Philippe

Hello Danos,

The man obviously has a big heart; he is smiling so warmly, for you, whilst he obviously has a massive problem with the tyre of his vehicle!
A very compact, daily life scene, beautifully composed, with excellent facial and textural details.

Have a great w/e,
Bev :-)

Hello Danos,

When I see almost daily life with lorries in my village than has the man still much work.
But the people are happy and not stressed.
Composition and presentation are nice to look at.
Very well done, TFS

Have a nice weekend,
John

Kalimera Danos,
This driver seems as happy to pose for you while replacing the big tire.
A large piece torn off, clearly visible, but the idea to take a photo with the man at work, made this interesting sight.
Enjoy a nice weekend, here is spring already.
Ike

Dear Danos

A delightful photo of this nice man. I love his smile and how he has knelt next to the very large wheel of the bus that he drives. Excellent capture, showing a real connection between subject and photographer.

Warmest wishes
Lisa

The hole in the tire is amazing, it is well that the driver kept his humor in this situation and smiled, I would curse :))

Witaj Danos!
Whether the driver is happy? I do not know.
Super scene.
I like framing and composition.
Nice colors.
Good shot.
Have a nice sunday.
Krzysztof

Hi Danos,
lovely portrait,
I have seen most previous places which you show from Egypt but I did not go to Alexandria, which I regret. There were couple of places I wanted to visit but the time was too short and now I think I will rather postpone visit there...
Nice capture quite original, the huge wheel makes an original background for the portrait,
M

Hi Danos,

You have caught the smiling expression of the driver even if he has a mechanical problem with is truck. The point of view is showing the details of his physionomy. Well done, have a nice day.

Pierre

Hi Danos.
A splendid shot, making such great play of the huge size of the tyre and it's comparison with the smiling gentleman. But why is he smiling with a tyre problem like that? Your composition is just right, and you have captured the man in a way that is like a portrait. He's handsome and happy!
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Danos,it's curious to see this driver smiling,it's not like in Italy when happens something of that...ehehe...curious capture on the road to Alexandria, unusual and a bit funny too,i like it! Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hello Danos,
A wonderful and charming photo. It's a quite simple composition but with an eye-contact and a spontaneous smile like this there is no need for anything more sophisticated. This kind is my personal preference in photography.
Kind regards,
Gert

Ha ha, Danos

A man who is happy in his work, though I don't envy him taking this tyre off his vehicle. Hard and heavy!

Nice shot form every day life. Thanks for sharing.

Have a good evening.

Hi Danos,
Very nice shot! I really like photos of local people in different situations. This man looks happy despite the problem with a flat tyre. A sharp and clear shot, well done!

Have a nice evening/
Boa

Hello Danos

I don't think I'd be quite so happy if I had a tyre in this condition! But this is a lovely grab-shot of a man who is clearly content with what life is throwing at him. A moment well seen and reacted to.

Will

Olá Danos,
sensacional essa foto, e impressionante como o sujeito fica feliz com um rasgo desses, com certeza é o dono da borracharia, pois o do caminhão está a chorar.

Hi Danos!
It's really a pity Egypt is not a safer place now. A good portrait, it's great to see the joy on his face.

Hi Danos,
An excellent daily life picture of the man with friendly smiling even he has big problem with the tire. Good quality photo as well colors, light and sharpness.

Zbigniew

Hi Danos,

Clear to show a driver in typical local costume, lively shot, he is still friendly and smiling to the visitors while replacing the damaged tyre, interesting composition, good shoot.

Ally

Greetings Danos,

Of all your Egyptian photographs - covering lots of famous and interesting sites, this is by far my favourite. In some respects, it is also a 'classic' African view - the truck driver with a damaged tyre, but one that is not picked up on as often as the Ancient Egyptian view. It is a great portrait which tells a clear story.

Thanks and regards,

Iain
