This scene was captured as we were driving to the airport in Leknes, Lofoten. Our trip to Norway was ending, and we really didn't want to go home, but we had a flight to catch.

I still remember us driving around, looking out the windows trying to find something meaningful to capture, just one last time.

It was like we were hanging onto Lofoten and didn't want to let go. Lofoten is hard to get to, so we don't know if we'll ever go back here again. I hope we do. So many wonderful memories here.

In this scene I captured some rays of morning light striking the side of that little yellow house. I guess I just liked the overall frozen atmosphere in the dimmed lighting.

Hope you enjoy it too

Hello Craig,
The light brings a sense of poignancy to this snowy scene. I like also the composition with the oblique placement of the roadway and the positioning of the house on the right. Excellent photography.

Hello Craig

You're my next-door neighbour today, so how could I not comment on this image? If photography is painting with light, that's exactly what you've done. The colours are true and natural, the composition works well - maybe a tad too much foreground road for my taste - and the sky is beautifully defined. But it's the light on the side of the house which finally clinches it.

Regards

Will

Hello Craig,
It's not quite Reine, but that light falling on the side of the yellow house was worth a short break in the journey to the airport. It's easy to understand why you wanted to linger on there another while.
Best wishes,
Gert

Bonjour, cher Craig,

Hi Craig, very good view of this interesting and beautiful frozen dim morning light landscape. Very well captured in this good and beautiful photography. An interesting image with good sharpness, depth, light, color and quality. Very good and nice job well done, congratulations my friend. Thank you for sharing this interesting work.

Good evening and happy start to the week.
All the best from southern Spain.
Angel.

Hello Craig,
before reading your note, I thought that this was evening light, the northern light looks so different (from the Mediterranean) and the subtle tones of your photo are mesmesrizing. I like very much your composition with the empty road, the quiet neighbourhood and the crooked mountains. The atmosphere is a blend of isolation, mystery and nostalgy. The sunlit facade is an excellent point of reference and the cloudscape makes the scene unique. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

Ciao Craig
Saluti
Carlo

Hello Craig,

I thought the winter is started but happy the picture is during the springtime.
A lovely winter picture with snow and dangerous roads.
Wonderful panorama view about the area.
An excellent presentation too.
Very well done, TFS.

Best regards,
John.

Hi Craig
Stunning vista, with the mountain springing the backdrop and the clouds hanging round makes the image come alive fo me, pristine image. The composition is really good and I like the colours especially the clouds and the bonus here are the play of sunlight & the warm catch light on the house. Indeed a pleasant place to spend and take a few pics as displayed,
Great capture, Congrats.
Best wishes

Hello Craig, I agree with you that the morning sunlight just highlighting the yellow paint of the house, makes an excellent focal point. And what a backdrop with the snow covered mountains; I can understand why you would not want to leave.
It is making me shiver just looking at this scene.
Regards Jean.

Bonjour Craig
J'aime beaucoup ce type de ciel.Ici cette image est parfaitement cadrée et la lumière éclaire bien cette habitation soigneusement cadrée dans le format.
Bonne journée

Hi Craig,
Beautiful Norwegian mountain landscape. That farm adds local feeling. This one looks quite wintery. I think you were lucky, it would look quite different without snow. Here in Tampere we had some snow last week, but now it's again wet and dark.
Kari

Dear Macjake,
amazing landscape, wonderful clouds, dangerous sky, perfect image, great effect.
Thanx for sharing.

Hello Craig.
A wonderful composition of this spectacular landscape, which conveys much .... very cold ... towering mountains and dramatic sky with clouds such as pictorial in a soft blue sky.
The image has good sharpness, the lighting is perfect and the colors stand out the details.
Very well done. I like.
You have a good day.
Best wishes.
Luis.

Hello Craig,
This is another lovely Lofoten shot. The combination of sun and clouds provides a nice play of light and shadow, and that house seems to be catching one of the rays breaking through. I like the low mountains, too.

Hi Craig,

Not easy to shoot photo in a moving vehicle, we have to avoid blur image and also reflection of the glass window, but I like to try shoot more photos although in a bad condition, photos on the way are good for memory too, thanks for sharing a fascinating view outside the window.

Hi craig, This flat quite wide valley looks so different than the area near Reine. Nice composition with the yellow house and beautiful light.
For me it was not especially difficult to go to Lofoten and cheap but even if I liked it very much, I do not think I would go there again, There is so much to see in the world. I miss India, maybe some China. But where I could go many more times is Italy. I was ten times and I would love to go again.

Hello Craig

I departed Norway by train from Narvik to Kiruna, but flew back to Stockholm from Kiruna. Always sad to leave a country you really enjoyed. The snow capped peaks make a majestic backdrop. Good sharpness and the pale yellow facade of the building contrasts well with the blue grey sky. Tfs!

Brrrr! I can almost feel the chill all the way to Las Vegas. Cold but beautiful panoramic view of this landscape, I like the snow covered mountain. Good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.

Hello Craig

I`m pleased to read that you didn`t wanted go back home. well, good for you than (and us) that you decided to land in Bergen on your way back to Canada. A fine shot, very well taken in the early morning light. I like the composition and the way you have included the road. The lonely yellow house and the majestic mountains in the background makes this a veryh attractive scene. Fine work:) Thanks.

Have a nice Sunday.

Greetings, Erling
