Good Morning Everyone,

Please click here to see the larger Beta version.

As a follow-up to my previous photograph, which showed an old gentleman who had taken part in the Remembrance Sunday march, I wanted to post this shot, which shows the solidarity of the bikers.

There was a whole stream of bikers, showing the red poppy or carrying the English flag, touring the streets as a mark of respect to the people who perished in the two world wars.

When we saw them appear, we all rushed across the square to capture a memorable shot of this unusual occurrence. My photograph shows the tail-enders of the parade, supported by an army truck. I will show another earlier shot as a workshop.

When I researched the Remembrance Day Parade in Manchester, I found that a huge number of motor-bikers had joined together and circled the Manchester ring road. Every biker was dressed in red as a tribute to the symbolic poppy.

In the wake of the atrocities in Paris, it is humbling that people are prepared to join together and make such statements of respect.

Can I also add, that I watched the football match between England and France, last night, and was very moved by the emotions, the support for each other and to see 70,000 people joining in 'La Marseillaise' is something I will never forget.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
An interesting and heart warming note to accompany this well presented composition. Very well exposed with very good colours and clarity. Excellent to see this show of solidarity.

Ciao cara Bev, lovely composition with a lot of motobikers, excellent perspective, splendid light and wonderful colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Bonjour Beverly,

Il y a quelque chose de particulier dans les montures chevauchées par ces hommes dans l'image. Ces modèles semblent bien anciens et rappellent de bons souvenirs.

Amicalement

Serge

Hello Bev,
Motorbikes are noisy but they certainly look nicer on photos than cars (I guess John and Craig won't agree). It's probably because I can see the drivers. This was an occasion where the human presence was more important than usual. It's a good photo from a manifestation of solidarity. It's sad that such a tragedy is needed to make the football hooligans come to their senses.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Bev,
Fine view over tis street that seems to be completely filled with moto bikes. I agree with Gert concerning the preference of bikers above cars.
Thanks and regards,
Gerrit

Hello Beverley,
Beautiful photo of the tribute paid by these bikers on Remembrance Day with their large poppies clearly visible. A photo that shows a way people also commemorate war victims, which is not usually shown on TV, I think.

Hi Bev
you know, this isn't some spectacular landscape or some immense piece of architecture, but its actually MORE than that - and thats what makes the photo stand out.

its the message the photo and the subjects deliver.

a fine post for today indeed.
cheers
craig

Hi, Beverly. I agree with you bikers usually travel in groups. Good point of view to show these multicolored bikes on a rainy day and it seems that they have dominated the road. The zigzag lines and the cobbled street and the old building forms a nice addition. Sharpness and exposure is excellent. Cheers and thanks for sharing.

Hi Bev
A good read, your note for this one marking Remembrance Day.
I like the shot, with its nicely spread out group of bikers on their scooters - that looks like a traditional Vespa on the right, and another further back. And of course, the red bricks of the Manchester buildings. The higher resolution version looks great and is the perfect size.
Regards,
Andrew

Hello Beverley! Fine motobikers, fine scene. Superb architecture in the background. Wonderful brightness and colours. Good cut. Good frame. Regards!

Hello Bev,

A pretty cold, miserable and wet looking day but how brave of you to venture out for some photographs and how wonderful that this troop of motorcyclists on their scooters should do their own little bit to support our veterans in the celebration of Remembrance Day.

Two excellent photographs despite the poor weather and lighting conditions, each well taken and with excellent details.

Excellent!

Kind Regards,

John.

Excellent motion detected on this scene, as the bikers approach, Beverly.
Partial view of the known big city, its architecture's and I mean especially the red bricks building on left.
Thanks for your note on my last photo. Have a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello Bev

You don't mention what a stink their combined exhausts made! But you survived the pollution to grab an excellent shot of these '60s throwbacks. They reminded me of my youth in Southend, a Mod's stronghold in those days. Nice one.

Regards

Will

Hello Bev,

It's good to see the world unite against the insanity sweeping the Europe and the rest of the world.

Before I retired, I had an invitation to give a talk at the Manchester Philosophical Society. The timing was poor, and I could not accept. But it would a pleasure to visit. There are so few photos posted from Manchester, I'm happy to see this one.

Have a good weekend,

Bulent

Hello Bev,

The Union Jacks in the top left corner add place and context. Nice repetition of the benign looking motor cyclists. Good sharpness and the alternating red and blue colors of the bikes add a warm cold color contrast. Tfs!

Hi Bev,
lovely capture of this extraordinary event. I have never seen anything similar to it. Sadly it happened all too fast for me to react. But you did a great job here capturing several of the participants and set against a nice architecture in the back.
You have also captured well the rainy atmosphere of that day. Great work!
M

Hi Beverley!
Truly interesting and attractive picture, with special regards to the exposure, colors and, of course, smart composition!
TFS - congrats,
Season's Greetings!!!!
