Whoever liked the sky in my previously uploaded photo, will not like this sky here. Sadly this is the type of sky which we have in England most of the year: white-gray with no features...

This Easter I made a short trip to the south of England. The main destination was Peppa Pig World, a theme park located near Southampton. I am not sure if Peppa Pig is popular in other countries? It is a fantastic British cartoon for children. I don’t know any other cartoon which would be so well settled in the real world. It presents very real problems of daily life in Britain. I know that it is quite popular in Poland too. My daughter watches usually the original version but we have printed books in Polish. I assume it must be popular in some other countries too. And so for many children the spot presented in this photo may be of more importance than some popular touristic destinations. In the very centre you see a building of museum which Peppa visited several times, for example to see a dinosaur for her little brother birthday. In the immediate foreground you see Grandpa Pig driving the miniature locomotive called Gertrude. It was one of the rides at the theme park which is completely devoted to Peppa Pig World. Behind the museum to the left you can see the most important building in that world: Peppa Pig’s House. The architecture is not very sophisticated yet the structure is recognizable by many children.

cześć, Zdziwiłam sie, ze Peppa tp angielska bajka, jakos wydzawalo mi sie, ze hiszpańska. Wybrażam sobie, jaka radość miała Nadia, no i wy przy okazji. My bylismy kiedys w Orlando w Disneyworld, też byly domki Pluto , zamek Śniezki oczywiscie, i całe mnóstwo innych, wesle Kopciuszka z prawdziwymi postaciami ale byc tam bez dziecka??
Ada też bardzo lubiła Peppę, potem były samochody, a teraz sa Angry Birds. Co to za skarbonka! Wszystko teraz z ptakami, majtki, skarpetki, t-shirty, czapka, posciel... W Argentynie była Mafalda. Łza sie w oku kręci wspominając Jacka i Agatkę..
Codziennie sobie obiecuje, że zaraz zaraz napisze maila i potem mi jakos schodzi... Może dzis sie uda

Pozdrawiam Małgorzata

Hi Mariusz,

Oh, dear, I'm afraid that my education is lacking - I must confess now that I'd never heard of Peppa Pig before. But I suppose that I was brought up with Sooty and Sweep as well as Noddy and Big Ears - but they're now dreadfully old fashioned and I doubt if children nowadays have ever heard of them either! But this sounds like a wonderfully fun place for children and I'm glad that your daughter was able to enjoy seeing Peppa Pig here - much better than just reading books about him!

And what a delightful photograph too! I presume that's Peppa driving the train and he stands out wonderfully and colourfully in the foreground against the backdrop of rather quaint and also colourful buildings. A very well composed shot with excellent depth (helped by your wide lens) and lovely saturated colours and excellent depth of field and sharpness. And don't worry about that sky - there's plenty of other things to enjoy in this picture and I hardly noticed the light grey sky until you pointed it out. A really fun shot!

Kind Regards,

P.S. Can you (or children) go for a ride on this train?

Bonjour Mariusz,

Les enfants de tous ages doivent avoir beaucoup de plaisir dans la région. Profiter d'un aussi beau village de bande dessinée avec des attractions intéressantes et colorées.

Hello Mariusz,
This photo was a nice surprise for me...I love Peppa Pig! Before you think I'm a bit strange, I can tell you that I always watch this show with my young niece and nephews. :-) It's also popular here in the US, and we have the toys and books, too. This is a fun and colorful capture of the train pulling into the frame, with the museum in the center. I'll have to look this site up and find out more about it. :-)

Hello Mariusz.
A nice composition, the resort where children enjoy safe butt, funny the colorful houses and the little train that we see in the foreground, which gives great charm to the composition.
Excellent composition and sharpness.
Wonderful clarity and colors.
Very well done. I like.
Have a nice day.
Best regards.

Hello Mariusz,

Peppa Pig is just as I imagined it would be.
My granddaughter would love this!

The features are just as children like them, uncomplicated and colourful.

You have composed the photograph well, the train having lots of space into which it can travel, with the curved railway line providing a guide into the scene. There is a fine sense of depth and perspective.

I bet your daughter absolutely loved this!
It's a pity it isn't closer to home.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Mariusz!
I guess I've never heard about this pig but I haven't seen any cartoons lately:)! This reminds me of a place I posted a couple of years ago, only here things are bigger. Seems really nice and I like the composition. Even the people add a lot here!

Dear Mariusz

hehehe how your priorities have changed in recent years! From romantic Greek beaches to Peppa Pig, such is the joy of children. You seem very knowledgeable about Peppa and your photo has bright a big smile to my face. Excellent note, great colours and well done with the sky. I admire you for bringing out the best in it, I had a lot of trouble with those grey skies in Ireland, so understand what you're battling.

Cheer and happy weekend
