For someone who lives in what is affectionately known as the dry country, I continue to marvel at the north east part of Namibia where the landscape contrasts so dramatically with the rest of the country.

This shot combines two aspect of the area that remain fixed in my mind; the lushness of the vegetation and the flooded rivers and pools of water. Aside from that the colours blue and green speak to me of peacefulness and tranquillity which was exactly my experience in this remote location

Hi Rosemary,
a picturesque atmosphere with beautiful lights, the composition is spectacular, great details and POV,
Georg

Hello Rosemary,
A very apt title for such a beautiful image. Well composed to give the scene depth and benefiting from lovely light and colours. You are right about the song, comes from a musical, Gigi I think.

Hello Rosemary,
indeed the greenery in your picture looks lush and I wouldn't associate Namibia with this image at all. Simple scene but very nicely presented with the tall grass being reflected in the water for enhanced effect. I also like the second plan, which seems to be like a big grassland with single tree in the middle.
Very lovely colors and well given contrast add to this photo.
Well done and TFS!
Regards
Kamila

hello Rosemary ,
It is not so easy to take good pictures in such places . You've here perfectly composed , with a perfect balance between all the elements : bushes , trees , sky , and the splendid reflections .
Bravo

Bonjour Rosemary

J'aime beaucoup le point de vue très bas, presque à la surface de l'eau qui donne de l'ampleur aux plantes aquatiques.. Par contre ,il faudrait une point focal quelconque pour arrimer le tout.

Amicalement

Serge

Hi Rosemary,
you are presenting a very well composed impression of this interesting piece of nature. Excellent management of the light and a very good perspective. The moody colors make the image very attractive. My compliments!
Warm regards
Harriet

Hello Rosemary,
Perfect choice of title. The fantastic contrast between the blue and the green is what makes this image so attractive. The layer of marsh grass is nicely sandwiched and contrasts so well with the layers of blue.
A beautiful nature shot, thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Subho

Bonjour, chère Rosemary,
L'image est belle et pourrait faire l'objet d'une première de couverture ou la pochette d'un disque compact.
Bel hommage rendu à la nature.
Amitiés.

Hi Rosemary,
Superb landscape photo, nice colors, excellent light & clarity, very nice arrangement, very good viewpoint. The beautiful sky and excellent reflections add nice toning to the scene.
Very well done.
Wish you a nice week.
Greetings,
Miro

Hi Rosemary,
Superb colors in this wild scene. I like the simple pov, lovely.
Have a good week ahead.

Daniel

Hello Rosemary,
For most members of TE Namibia is probably best known for its spectacular sanddunes and various red tones, so this picture should represent a very unknown part of the country. I have seen somewhat similar areas in South Sudan, so if the resemblances go further you should watch out for crocodiles in these waters. The green tones of the vegetation are really stunning and the blue areas are equally impressive. The single tree is another nice feature, but I guess it's above all the clarity and sharpness that makes this photo outstanding.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Rosemary
Different view in opposite of desert
Nice foreground of this pound the place reminds me a view in Center of France
Well done
Kind regards

Hello Rosemary,
No Namibian deserts this time ... but a very watery and lush green area.
I'm not sure if you took this picture from in a boat. Anyway, your low POV gives an impression of being enclosed by the waterplants. Unlike in the vast desert and canyon landscapes of Namibia, you cannot have a distant view here. On the other hand, these wetlands must be the home of a lot of animals. They are well able to hide there and they will find probably a lot of food.
As you wrote, wonderful in blue and green!
Best regards, Paul

Hi Rosemary, very good photograph of this beautiful and interesting composition to show the beautiful lushness of the place, very well captured in this beautiful image with good sharpness, depth, light and color. Very good and interesting job well done, congratulations my friend. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work.

Good evening and happy start to the week.
Warm greetings from southern Spain.

Hi Rosemary
This shot makes me think of the garden of Eden. the calm blue water, the magnificent vegetation, and the many many colors throughout the whole scene. I love how you composed the tree furthest away too, it looks like its peeping up like a meercat :)
Wonderful place, so full of life. It also makes me wonder what life is beneath the surface of that calm water!
all the best
Noel

Ciao Rosemary
c'è un bel contrasto tra le foto del deserto e questo paesaggio, qui dominano il blu e il verde, duplicati dal riflesso aumentano la loro potenza visiva.
Bella luce e splendidi colori, spesso dalle cose semplici otteniamo i risultati migliori.
Saluti
Carlo

Hello Rosemary,

It is such an unusual shot from you, taken in Namibia.
It is so green and blue and delightful for that!
The grass is wonderfully lush and looks even better with those amazing reflections.
Your low pov helps to create a fine sense of depth, from the tall grasses to the single tree.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Rosemary
Très différent ds paysages de dunes namibiens! Jolie composition sous une belle lumière.

Hi Rosemary
two colours that always seem to captivate when brought together in an image like this. Simple Earthly elements but ones that I think us humans will never tire off, unless global warming forces us all to survive as City dwellers! Beautiful imagery!

Hi Rosemary
Beauty in seclusion! A spectacular nature wonder unfold before you eyes, a high valuable oasis within the arid land and nothing can take away the stunning-ness of the spectacle in glorious afternoon light. Very impressive view full of depth, the best fresh natural colors rendition and delicate details along with good touch of the vital solid foreground reflections. I adore a whole lot of this appealing shot which sets of the tranquil picture so handsomely and your best pp has definitely enhanced the image really well. A top quality composition and Gorgeous :) Congrats
Best regards

Rosemary, this is another lovely landscape, on what is obviously a very calm day. Beautiful clouds, wonderful sharpness throughout, and nice color contrasts. Well done. Thanks.

Roger

Hello dear friend
simple scenery but nicely presented
with dynamic and stron colors creating
an unique environment
blud sky green landscape and again the
reflected sky on the surface of the water

have a nice day
Costantino

Hi Rosemary,

Amazing and as you say one would not expect this lush landscape in Namibia. Wonderful colours especially against the gorgeous blue sky with it low clouds.
Great low Pov, skimming the water, well managed, Tfs.

Cheers, Iain.

Hello Rosemary

Lovely scene. Often TE offers images of exotic, remote, even alien locations, that make me feel the differences between places; at other times I'm struck by a surprising familiarity. Who would guess that Mamili National Park in Namibia could look remarkably like a reed bed in the Norfolk Broads??

Regards

Will

Howdy Rosemary,

Fine Mamili National Park scene with the healthy bamboo surrounding the blue waterway with floating clouds. I expect an alligator to arrive anytime?

Thanks for sharing,
Cheers,
Ray

Hello Rosemary,
Beautiful lush green vegetation and a lively painterly sky. I like how you have composed and created a very successful image without having any main subject matter - it gives a great sense of the place.
Best wishes,
Caleb

Hi Rosemary
Its hard for me to imagine living in such a small country like Namibia :)
I live in the 2nd largest country in the world, and we have SOOOO many contrasting landscapes!

It cost's me $1500-$1800 to fly from coast to coast in our own country! yikes, sometimes i think Canada is too big!

How far is this area of land from the opposite corner in Namibia? Must be nice to travel in Namibia :)
Or perhaps i'm way off, who knows!

Its very hard to travel within Canada, its cheaper for me to fly to England than it is to Eastern Canada...go figure!

and you're so right, this looks much different than so many other landscapes we see in Namibia.
the water here in your photo looks so still, almost like a sheet of glass.

the photo is very bright and luminous, has a sheen and shine to it thats very attractive. nice shot!
see you around
craig

Hi Rosemary!
Really beautiful landscape and a good quality shot! I guess these canes are very similar to the ones we have here. It's a beautiful composition, you placed the tree very well. I like the reflections and the light is perfect.
