I have already posted a photo of this white cathedral but it was rather gloomy. Here I worked hard to make it a bit more colourful, if possible in a very cloudy gray day.

Helsinki Cathedral (Finnish: Helsingin tuomiokirkko, is the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran cathedral. The church was originally built from 1830-1852 as a tribute to the Grand Duke of Finland, Tsar Nicholas I of Russia. Rather funny that a Luther church for a tsar.
Today, the cathedral is one of Helsinki's most popular tourist attractions. More than 350,000 people visit the church each year, some to attend religious events, but mostly as tourists.
It is interesting inside as it has almost no decorations. Just the organ , a pulpit and an altar.

Definitely a picture off the beaten track !
I wish I were a little insect on your shoulder to watch you working up the post processing, something like a mixture of high key, solarization, whatever .....
A very graphical and esthetic result
Bravo, very well thought
patrick

Hello Malgo,
The pp is excellent drawing out the detail in the architecture to great effect. I like the upwards point of view and the presence of the children, whose brightly coloured clothing does much to enliven the scene.

Ciao Malgo
Complimenti
Ciao e buona giornata
Romano

Hello Malgo,
There's nothing like colourful people in front of a famous building. This is among the better photos I have seen from this cathedral. Your PP is a bit peculiar, making the photo look almost like a drawing, but the effect is quite attractive.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hallo, Malgo,
Excellent composition and very interesting colors management, good capture of the kidgarden's exursion to the Cathedral. I was here in the summer time of 2002, but I don't want to scanning my old photos and I just wait for a reason to visit this country again. )
Best wishes,
Serghei

Bonjour Malgorzata,

Amicalement

Serge

Hello Malgo,
What a transformation! You have succeeded so well! The majesty of the cathedral along with the teachers and students is a great juxtaposition too.
I am trying to learn more about so much in photography: did you achieve some of this effect with a polarizing filter or was it mostly through post-production work?
What a completely fresh view of this setting!
Warmest regards,
William

Hi Malgo,

Wow, it certainly white and the group of people stand out so well with their bright snow clothes on, with your filter it appears that they have all be rolling in the snow, or maybe they have, teachers as well.

A fantastic image of this beautiful white cathedral, what ever way you have manipulated it.

Wonderful, Tfs,

Cheers, Iain.

Witaj Malgorzato,
Slicznie wykonana.
Serdecznie pozdrawiam Barbara

Hi Malgo,
A very sharp capture of this famous church. The church itself becomes very graphical. But the group of children and their teachers add an abundance of colours, a striking contrast against the almost black and white rest of the picture. This is a picture I would have liked to take myself...
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hello Malgo,
On thumbnail I was thinking it's a fayance Wall, but wasn't !
Amazing.
Interesting notes.
TFS and best regards

Hi Malgo
What an effect! I have no idea how you ahieved this result, but it's amazing. The cathedral s one I have admired from afar for a long time, so I always love to see photos of it, but the colorful children in the lower corner is an amazing touch, and such a bright spark of color. It's a real rainbow of people in a snowy architectural wonderland.
All the best
Noel

Hello Malgo,
In a country with much snowfall people have to be dressed colourful :)
I find this a very beautiful presentation of the cathedral.
But at both sides you cut just a little too much.
Best regards, Paul

Ciao Malgo
Saluti
Carlo

Bardzo pasuje tutaj ten efekt high key podkreslajac jaskrawe kolory ubranek dzieci na tle tej wszechobecnej bieli sniegu, nieba i architektury.
Pozdrawiam

Hi Emka,
Beautiful photo, excellent processing. I like the arrangement with the white cathedral and the colourful children group in foreground. Excellent view up.
Very well done
Wish you a very nice weekend.
Greetings,
Miro
p.s. YES, the red City Hall is a real old building in centre of Basle.

Hello Malgo,
very strange look, but why not? I like it.
regards,
Elvira

Hi Malgo,
Wow, the appearance is certainly different from the earlier post. I wonder what kind of processing resulted such pixellation, but I find it oddly charming.
And children on colourful winter clothes are well placed and really make this genuinely good.
Kari

Ciao cara Itchy Feet

Having seen your previous ones of this place, I can see how well you've done with the PP to make it brighter. I also love the inclusion of the kids to give us a sense of scale and perspective. Great idea the vertical frame, which also adds to the sense of depth and scale. Great job cara IF, have a lovely Friday.

Warmest wishes
Lisa

PS: I'm very excited, we've just booked a short holiday!

Hi,
I immediately thought you have processed the photo as contours are very sharp and visible. Cloudy winter days are difficult to photograph because of lack of light and secondly everything look pretty same (white and grey). This photo is interesting and even winter looks more fascinating, and children´s clothes are great splash of color. Domes stand out beautifully. Good work. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Kaisa

Hello dear Malgorzata,

What a wonderful photo. It would make a very attractive Christmas card. The composition could not be any better. The highlight colors add immeasurably to already interesting photo.

Have a good week,

Bulent

Hi Malgo,
Splendid picture with a great contrast colors and a beautiful architecture. Very nice effect PP and good WS too. Love it!
Have a nice week my friend.

Hi Malgo
On dirait un dessin peint à l'aquarelle, cela donne un effet intéressant
Une bonne idée issue d'une inspiration artistique
I wrote in French to better explain what I felt
Warm regards

Hi Malgorzata,
a very original-looking photo, just like a drawing and a very colorful one. Excellent graphic effect and dominating white and bluish tones. Like it!
Best wishes!
