From this point of view, in Rouviac hamlet, in the Nant municipality, the church of Saint-Michel 12th 15th centuries, mentioned in 1135, a priory church, then a Benedictine abbey. Registered historical monuments since 2007.

_ The DOURBIE is a Cevennes river. It takes its source with the mount of Aulas, in Linguas, to 1300 m, the south of the mountain of Aigoual, in the department of Gard. It also runs in the department of Aveyron and is thrown, after 920 m of unevenness and 72 km of course through throats and valleys between the CAUSSE NOIR, black causse and the CAUSSE OF LARZAC, in Millau in the Tarn with the bridge of Cureplat to 320 m, him even tributary of the Garonne. Its irregular and seasonal course with known the minimal flow of 2,9 cubic meters a second, to reach up to 728 cubic meters a second maximum flow. Dourbie is famous near the trout fishermen. Dourbie river description.

_ The CAUSSE NOIR extends on 200 km², on the departments of Aveyron, Gard and Lozère, and is smallest of "GRANDS CAUSSES", large causses.
It is limited by the deep canyons of Jonte river to North, of Dourbie river in the south, the Tarn river in the west, and by the buttresses of the Cevennes in the East.

_ The CAUSSE du LARZAC is vastest and southernmost of "GRANDS CAUSSES", large causses. Its 1000 km ² of plateau rise from 600 to 900 meters. It is limited to the North-East by Dourbie river which separates it from "Causse Noir", in the North-West the Tarn river separates it from the plateau of Lévézou, in the west it stops with the depression of Roquefort. Its surface is strewn with famous sites with the military orders, Knights of the Order of the Temple and Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem.

_ The GRANDS CAUSSES, in the south of the Massif Central, are delimited in north by the plateau of "Aubrac", in the east by the Cévennes, the south by the plain of the "lodévois", in the west by the plateau of "Lévézou". These are plateaus limestones whose altitude varies from 700 to 1250 meters of altitude, and of surface going up to 1000 km². The "Grands Causses" are formed by important "Causses of Larzac" (1000 km²), of "Sauveterre" (550 km²), "Méjean" (330 km²), and "Noir" (200 km²), but also of the causses "Comtal", "Rouge" and of "Sévérac", and many small peripheral causses like causses of "Mende", "Blandas", "Changefèges", "Bégon", etc… No waterway circulates on the surface of the plates, because the rainwater infiltrates in the karstic, generating networks of many swallow-holes and caves, to re-appear in the valleys. Geology of causses and the cévennes.

Philippe

Hi Joël,
I always appreciate your habit of including two extra pictures to your uploads. This is a very beautiful view and it is very interesting to see to complementary pictures. A very attractive scene and a very pleasant landscape. All three pictures are very good and your note is also very enjoyable, as always.
Kind regards
Gunnar

Sylvain

Hi Joël,
This ol church seems to be so beautiful . So , I would like to have a view closer . Or another perspective on it . But the landscape is very nice , too.
Best regards
Janusz

Amicalement

Hello Joel,

You're capturing well this landscape by a good conposition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the pastoral landscape with rich greenery and mountain slope. It's a peaceful place and looks like a place suitable for cultivation. And, the church draws out a special efect in this image.

Kind regards,
mikio

Hello Joël,
Your point of view shows the church to be quite isolated, I wonder if that is actually the case. Anyway, I like the point of view with the natural landscape making a superb backdrop for the old stones of the church. A lovely range of tones captured under a sympathetic light. Very good clarity. Bon dimanche.

Bonjour Joel,
