The 12 Apostles are located approx. 300 kilometers west of Melbourne, a four-hour plus drive along the Great Ocean Road.
I was rubbing shoulders with Paolo when I took this shot, his version and accompanying informative note can be seen Here.
Paolo (paololg) and I witness the rugged splendour of the famous 12 Apostles and the magnificent rock stacks that rise up majestically from the Southern Ocean on Victoria's dramatic coastline on a day when the sun was hiding behind the clouds for most of the time but thanks to some good fortune it was shining when we needed it the most.
I was forced to try something a little different because I had only my fisheye lens with me.
Wiggy is a word that I had not heard of before, the unban dictionary describes it as:
1. When a person acts strange in an every-day situation that makes them seem super paranoid. When something is really weird or is completely not-like what it appears to be.

2. 1. Nervous, high-strung.
2. Behaving in a hesitant, cagey manner, often arousing suspicion.

3. Effects of tripping on acid or ecstasy.

4. Hyper, sensitive, playful, loud

5. A playful name for a penis, like "pee pee"

6. Of Dutch Origin. The most beautiful amazing person of all the land.

Forse e indigestione? :)

Hi Santo!
Well said, great note! I really love the idea of framing those rock formations with in the bars. Nice focus on the "wiggy" which really steals the attention. I just liked the feeling of a smiley face that this fish eye lens create. Great presentation! Love it!

best regards,

Ciao Santo, I saw already the Paolo's version of the famous Apostles. very original capture here. interesting view from under this Wiggy sign. amusing note - so many meaning of this word I haven't heard before. Interesting fish-eye shot.

Warm regrads

Hi Santo
I love the photo - beauitfully framed by the rails but after looking at your list the significance of the "wiggy" seems vague - someone must know the reason for it.
Good to meet you in Sydney recently - hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay inn Sydney.

Ciao Santo,

Carissimo Monello

I love this, no doubt the most unique take on the Twelve Apostles to date. Wiggy would be proud, although after reading your definitions, I'm not sure whether Wiggy's a fantastic bloke or a complete Fracanapa! Fantastic effect with the fish-eye lens and I like how you've used the railing to give us this tunnel view of the famous Apostles - who no doubt will never be the same after a double visit from the Monelli.

Congrats, love it, have a beautiful day

Hello Santo,

The sun certainly had appeared for your shot and livened up this already amazing view, with its highlights and shadows. It is not immediately apparent, to me anyway, that this is a fisheye lens as I perceived the surround as a curved chair back, though your pov does give the impression of an eye. A great dof and unusual pov gives this great appeal to the viewer.

Might I suggest that you try cropping the upper part of the shot, just to the top of the rail as this helps to constrain the viewer and make him look straight towards the focal images, and it feels much more secretive!

Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hi Santo..

Wow!!!!! very impressive shot! i really like the way you capture thing..creative & original concept! your POV is fascinating, it gives great perspective..also your idea with the bars in foregroung is amazing, it creates depth! nice focus on the wiggy and very nice note!! iam impressed :)

Best regards..Yiannis

Ciao Santo

Ciao Santo,

Ciao Santo

An unusual fisheye view of the 12 Apostles. Good sharpness & nice use of the rails to frame the 2 sea stacks. The blue sea & sky contrast well against the honey colored rock. I have been there many years ago & it certainly is a spectacular stretch of coastline. Tfs!

Hi Santo!
I see you had a great meeting there:)! I guess I had never seen the 12 Apostles from this pov:)! You have a very interesting composition! It's very well framed and the "Wiggy" is surely a very nice detail!

Hi Santo
looking at this scene, i'm extremely impressed with the level of sharpness and clarity you were able to get even way off into the bg!
looks fantastic!!!

You have given me an idea!
Bringing only 1 lens on a photo shoot - the one lens I don't use much. This way it will Force the photographer to be creative, find new and different POV's. I like that!

love the bend of the fish eye here, and yes, this is a different take on the much photograped 12 Apostles.
have a great day

Ciao caro Monello!!!
Per me il significato è il n°5 !!! :-)))
Co sta foto, finalmente in TE se vede calcossa de interessante che no sia a soita cartoina comprada dal tabachin (ah... desmentegavo che in Oceania no ghe xe i tabachini come da noialtri in Italia...) Fa conto che mi jero talmente incantà a vardar sto spetacoeo dea natura che no me son gnianca incorto che te gà ciapà sta foto. Comunque te si veramente bravo! Riguardo al fuso orario, stamatina xe stà a prima matina che son riussio a dormi fin ae 7. Chealtre matine jero svejo ae 4! (Eppur no go fato indigestion de scheetrini...!!!) ;-)
Par intanto te auguro bona domenega, a ti a anca aea Penny, e spero de trovar el tempo par postar qualche altra bea foto australiana, visto che ghe ne go fato de bee (grassie a ti che te me gà portà in posti bei)

Hello Santo,
Magnifcent scenery of seascape and impressively executed and presented through the interesting frame - great colors, sharpness, clarity, execlent POV and depth of field. The eyes leading into the background through the horizon. Congrats. Thanks for sharing. Love it.
All the best and have a nice WE,
Ps. I still have a problem with TE site.

Ciao Santo

Hi santo,
excellent frame with these curves and the mane of this place, original and well made shot about these famous rocks, tfs, nice light too.

Dear Santo,
Great note from Paolo. I never knew what wiggy was. Nice way of using the fisheye to capture the rocks in distance. It gives a perspective of where you were rather than just the rocks on the sea 9which would have otherwise made a mundane shot)

Ciao carissimo Santo.....

Ciao Santo!

Ciao Santo!
Very original pov and composition for that World Famous Natural Wonder!
Truly beautiful and attractive picture!
Sharpness, exposure, colors and horizontal format also pleased me a lot!
TFS - congrats,
