[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Cape Schanck Lighthouse has served shipping since 1859.

Today Cape Schanck Lighthouse and its Keeper's Quarters are significant as a substantially intact representation of an 1800's light station and for being one of the oldest substantial groups of light station buildings in Australia.

Nearby walking tracks in the Mornington Peninsula National Park lead to lookouts with spectacular views of the coast.

Hi Steve,
I love it, great POV looking along the walking track with the Lighthouse in the background. I feel like I'm there beside you.
Composition really works well, just enough shrubbery to tell the story. It must have been blowing once you got out of the shelter of the trees, that flag is certainly horizontal.
Interesting that f/10 didn't carry more DOF, I'm guessing you shot this on the longer end of the zoom.
Good photographic skills here, nice work.
Regards
Peter

hi Steve. I like this one a lot since instead the expected cliffs and sea it has a gently curving path amongst the scrub. Fine colours and natural ambiance. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Steve,
A fine composition starting with the narrow road leading us into the picture and then disappearing among the trees. The red and white of the lighthouse contrast nicely with the green dominance and the dark clouds.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Stephen,

Lovely combination with the narrow path these leads us to the nice lighthouse in background.
Nice composition, soft colors, fine for look at.
Very well composition nice colors too. TFS.

Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hi Steve
Excellent use of the DOF, one side soft and the other very sharp, good leadway with the lane with the natural light adorning the capture. Lighthouse is placed well in the composition with the red + white combination of the lighthouse offering contrast to an otherwise moody image. Top notch exposures throughout.
Good work
Regards
Jim

Hi Steve,
This is an unique perspective of the lighthouse, surrounded by so much pleasant green colour. The path gives us a sense of progression towards the lighthouse.
Cheers
Alfred

Hi Steve, welcome back! You've posted photo of this lighthouse before, but this POV does it for me. I like the idea of the track leading out of sight and the lighthouse overlooking everything. The image is beautifully saturated and exposed and I really like the vertical framing which perfectly suits the subjects. TFS, have a good Monday ;) Lisa

Hello Steve
Its ashame that this a about the best view of the light house at Cape Schank as you will ever get, and here you have exploited it to the fullest. My Wife's mother's ashes were spread out to sea there, awesome place, very rugged coastline.
Cheers Peter

Nice one Steve, as usual you have given this composition a lot of thought, it has come together really well. Excellent colour & sharpness, especially at the lighthouse.
Cheers
Santo
