La Caze castle, Sainte-Énimie.

One sight of the towers.
Other sight of the towers.

In the canyon and on Right Bank of the Tarn river, this castle of the 15th 16th 17th 19th centuries is classified historic building since 1988. Private property, hotel establishment.
Property of Soubeyrane Alamand and Guillaume de Montclar at the 15th century, it belonged then to Frayssinet, then as from the 17th century with the family of Maillan which made bored bays and made make remarkable interior installations. The towers were rebuilt at the 19th century.

Sainte-Enimie is a french commune, located in the department of Lozère of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 509 Santrimiols in 1999, distributed out of 88 km², that is to say 6 hab./km².

At the bank of the Tarn river, and fountain of Burle, the village of Sainte-Énimie is located between the two large causses Méjean and Sauveterre.

Sainte-Énimie is one of the "Plus Beaux Villages of France", one of the more beautiful village of France.

The commune of Sainte-Énimie gathers several quite as beautiful villages and hamlets the ones as the others, Like Castelbouc, Hauterives, Prades, Saint-Chély-of-Tarn, which are on banks of the Tarn river, whereas Boisset, Champerboux and Sauveterre, are on causse of Sauveterre.

According to the legend:
Enimie would have been the daugther of Clotaire II, (584-629), king of the Francs from 613 to 629, and dedicated its life with God. It contracted leprosy thus pushing back its suitors. With the advertisement of an angel, she cures herself by a bath taken in the Fountain of Burle. Its life of holiness, then will occur on the spot, where she died about 628.

A good capture of this massive fortress. The castle is clearly put in context with the surrounding countryside with the added benefit of the foreground trees helping to relieve the austere lines of the architecture. I like the soft light and colours. Very good sharpness. Well done.

Bonjour Joel ,

Verry interesting old castle with trees arround.Good photo.Best regards.Alin.

Hi Joël,
Always very interesting to check the map view first to see where your new picture is taken... We did not see this in reality, but I do enjoy your photo here. This is a very impressive and strongly fortified castle in a very beautiful valley. Interesting note too, as usual!
Kind regards

Hi Joel,

Hello Joel,
An impressive looking castle, it looks impregnable with those solid stone walls. Superb perspective, the fortress surrounded by the beautiful autumn colours looks completely at odds with its environment.
Lovely depth, the view past the castle on to the precipitous valley is wonderful.

Hi Joel,
nice the view of the castle as we can see it through the side branches of the trees.I like the good management of the light, as the dark area of the shot, that in combination with the WS complete the whole scene.Informative your note too.Well done.
