Villa de Leyva - Descending the waterfall

Now something different.
The surrounding countryside of Villa de Leyva also deserves a visit.

It can be explored on foot or horseback. It’s a wooded area and there are also some waterfalls. Colombians love active leisure in nature.
Here you can see how some brave people do not take the muddy path down (as I did) but they prefer to descend the waterfall. In Colombia this is called ‘Torrentismo’.

I can’t find the name of this waterfall anymore. But in Villa de Leyva you can inform yourself in your hotel and in the bus station you can take a public bus to a very small village near these falls.

Another picture in the workshop and also one of another activity in which you did not get wet and one that I dared :)

Hello Paul,
Three interesting photos, all well composed and graphically nice, and all showing exciting activities.
Greetings from Berlin.

Hello Paul,

I have done abseiling but I'm not sure that I would enjoy doing it with the cold water cascading over me.
This is an unusual shot, in fact something I have never seen before.
I presume the yellow rope is a means of ascending the waterfall.
I have done the zip wire experience, too and, like you, needed lots of encouragement to take off. It's just the first step that is hard, then it's a great thrill!
You have given us an excellent series of photographs, all explicit in defining the location and thrill of these sports.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Bonjour, cher Paul,

Hi Paul

Lovely sport picture, so refreshing, but you have to be concentrated not to slip on this steep waterfall. The general diagonal lines give some more dynamism to the scene

Dag Paul,

Obstacle course for brave and for all who enjoy sports activity, it can be attractive and it can give a dose of adrenaline, very well captured, nice photos in WS
regards Ryszard

All three photos are well showing the thrill, Paul.
I like the WS #2, it shows a wider and inclusive sight of the cascade.
The water stream added a superb motion to the whole.
Good afternoon,

Bonjour Paul

Mooi werk, goed weekend toegewenst, Groet Rob

Salut Paul,

I've done abseiling on a rock-face cliff, but not like this, in a waterfall. Could be dangerous if its slippery with algae. Good sharpness and tight framing on the 2 intrepid men. Tfs!

Hello Paul,
All three photos are interesting. I definitely would not have climbed down these rocks either. Nice close up of these adventurous people, and the water rushing by underneath them. The red helmet and yellow rope stand out against the other colors.

Hello Paul,
Scaling a waterfall, that's a new one for me. I agree, I would not try this one either. You chose the right activity for me.

Hello Paul, very good picture of this interesting scene of the daily life of these risky sportsmen, very well captured in this interesting image, with good clarity, light, color and quality. A great work perfectly done, my congratulations, my friend. Thank you for sharing this interesting work.

Good night and happy week.
All the best from the south of Spain.

Hi Paul,

This is an action-still photo

THe descending is very very treacherous as can be displayed from your photo, nice POV

Crispy pic and feel like giving them a high five.
