I'm glad your fellows managed to activate you.
Light is excellent on this one. On most pictures I've seen it isn't as tour buses arrive here around noon. And clearly rain has taken away the typical haze. Shodows of clouds make very nice patchy pattern, and wide angle is obviously a good choice here.

Hey great view Peter
Glad you guys had a wonderful day and weather wise as well (But it never rains in Sydney only in Melbourne - NOT!) Any way I love the sky colour and those impressive clouds and their shadows floating above the landscape. Great POV, sharpness and clarity.

Now you've beaten me to posting one of this scene with the great clouds. Good use of the wide angle lens that you had left on.

You chose a very well angle this gives a wonderful panorama view about the 'Three Sisters rock formation' .
Mountains are always a very lovely subject.
Sharpness and clarity are very well.

a shot of enormous impact, a stunning view and composition. Excellent light, shade and detail. I love all the dark shadows of the clouds, it makes the scene so interesting and dynamic. Wonderful!
Ciao dearest Wallmeister
Yes it was a lovely day, thankfully no rain, plenty of sun and laughs. The photo is excellent. Original POV - never seen that one before haha. But seriously I like that ming blue colour your camera seems to get and the effect of the wide-angle lens on the clouds is very attractive. Great contrast and depth. Oh and thanks for the Workshop, you have captured every one of my chins perfectly...genius stuff.
Good evening and we'll see you tomorrow

these views remind me alot of the Grand Canyon here in North America...the main difference of course being the lush greenery.
it never ceases to amaze me how clouds add so much depth and false sense of movement to a photo, without these clouds the photo would have much less of a dramatic effect.

Hi Peter, good shot of this iconic scene. Sharp throughout and lots of good detail, shadows which I imagine to be moving across the landscape and the cliffs in the BG. good stuff. cheers, Steve
It is extraordinary that you can drive 2 1/2 hours from Sydney and see this sort of rugged wilderness, so closely evoking images of the Grand Canyon. The crisp atmospheric conditions and the bright sun have collaborated to reveal the vibrant colors of the rocks and vegetation. Another wonderful aspect of this photo is that you've posted the day you shot it. It's fresh and warm like a new baguette pulled out the baker's oven. Can that distant ridge be part of a circular crater, the relic of a collision in the distant past with an immense meteorite?
Peter, I am sending you an email separately.

Hi Peter. No idea how I missed this wonderful panoramic sweep. The light is superb, the details intriguing and the clouds are adding a sense of movement as the cast their shadows during their journey across the sky. Best wishes. Klaudio.
