Okay, I'll come clean here. This photo includes a member of TE looking out over beautiful Coogee Beach at sunrise. I thought about posting the version without her in it, but it totally lost its impact and interest. So if the photo doesn't strictly adhere to the Rules and gets deleted, I'll accept that.

But for me, this photo is symbolic of many things. It symbolises how small we are in confrontation with nature. It shows the love and reverence of nature and travelling that we all have here at TE and most importantly, it shows how important friendship is. The lady in this photo lives in a land-locked city, she rarely sees the sea, and she has travelled 18,000 kilometres to see it and meet me and my countrymen and women here in Australia. When I saw Malgo walking out into the sea, she seemed to be greeting it like an old friend. I thought it was beautiful and poignant. And when I saw that beautiful smile on her face upon her return, it touched me deeply.

It was a wonderful experience meeting Malgo (emka) and her two friends over the past few days. She is a very special lady, a force of nature. And I'm sure my countrymen that also met her (Burraburra, Ifege, Cfege, TheBest, Gus72, Skippy007, Daddo and Macondo) will agree.

Bon viaggio Itchy Feet!

I will follow up this photo with more from our Meeting, so look out for some of my Workshops attached to the photo.

Bon Viaggio Itchy Feet!

Cara Lisa, I do hope that this photo remains. i had a similar photo of our friend totally ignoring the wet shoes as she came close and personal to the waves. She in fact gestured to me to come closer and enjoy the reflections on the wet sand. The photo has meaning not for just those who have met Malgo but for anyone who loves nature, adventure and who is willing to touch the world. Great POV which dwarfs the person against the elements. Best wishes. Klaudio.
(If yours survives, mine will follow soon.If not, then in workshop.Have a read what I wrote about Malgo in my 12Apostles shot.)

hi lisa
wonderful cloudy sky with nice form from waves you captured.

You placed Malgo into the surf perfectly Lisa. She mentioned her early morning "swim". Good dramatic looking clouds and great early colour.
Who's our next international TE visitor?
cheers

Ian

I agree with you Lisa, the solitary figure is a necessary element in the seascape. Malgo adds a poetic quality to the seascape where the narrative can be added by the viewer. I love the openness of this shot, sea, sand and sky beautifully harmonious in colour and superb in light and detail. The reflected light on the sea is just so well captured - delicate ans sublime. A triumph. Warm regards Rosemary

PS a lovely note!

Hello Lisa,

A nice seascape or sea scene. The rendering of the blue-grey colors is great and with the cloudy spotted sky and the lonely lady enjoying sea side, sharing a nice mood.
Good setting for the shutter speed, with blur of movement in the foam giving a piece of dynamism to the view in foreground.

Yves.

Hi Lisa,
I love this excellent seascape photo. The sky is terrific and the light reflections on sea water excellent. And the lonely person in the water? Add nice life to the scene. I also like the nice blue color tones.
Greetings,
Miro

Ciao Lisa,
I wish I was there to enjoy the beautiful moment at the ocean. Amazing shot, well done!

Cara Lisa,

The solitary person at left anchors the shot and makes a fine focal point as well as providing scale as to the immensity of the sea and sky. I like the blue tones and graphism of the dark inky clouds. Have a nice week!

Hi Lisa,
You are right, there would have been a lot less impact without emka in the picture ! I love the POV and the grey atmosphere, very peaceful ambiance.

Ciao Lisa,
Who's to say who the lady is and she is indeed a key element in the success of the composition. I like the placing of the horizon just above centre-frame, it works perfectly. Superb cool blue tones evoke the peaceful evening atmosphere. Excellent photography.

Ciao Lisa,
Martie-Louise.

Ciao Lisa

This beautiful photo remind me of the first time my son say the sea for the first time. He was about one year old still wearing proudly his huggies and running toward the water and running back with the wave.
A moment I will never forget as well as Malgo.

Have a nice day

Serge

Ciao cara Lisa,
Tanti saluti e buona giornata,
Ourania

Hello Lisa

Wide open, wind swept & the lovely dark clouds above seem to carry ink. The inclusion of the person is the finishing touch Great piece of work!

Hello Lisa,
I think it has happened before that TE members or family members have been discreetly smuggled into photos here to improve compositions. I can't see how that could really break any rules. Definitely this picture would not have been the same without Malgo or anyone else standing there, watching the sea and underescoring the immensity of nature. Fantastic blue tones and grey sand.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Lisa,
I love this photo. maybe cause I am too tired after work and really would like to be in her place for my tired feet.
Beautiful composition and great blue tones.
TFS
have a great day
bb

Ciao Lisa
A nice blue one
Would have been quite "empty" without the human presence, placed exactly at the right place
Well done, bravo
patrick

Good choice to include Malgo ( or maybe this was Dawn...)on the beach, Lisa.
She added a marvelous scale on the endless ocean scenery.
Blue dominance had conveyed a marvelous ambiance.
Cheers, envy you Aussie's able to get together so many TE members.
Ike

Ciao Lisa,
Complimenti!
Ciao. a presto
Romano

Carlo

Hello dear Lisa

Hello Lisa,
wonderful picture and really lovely scenery to relax after busy TE meeting:)After your last "blue hour" shot you present us here another shot with absolutely delightful and unique color scheme.Just love these dominating blue and grey shades(in this case I´m glad the sun must be hidden behind the clouds and do not illuminate the scene with its warm colors).
Unique sunrise shot Lisa!

Kind regards

Ciao cara Lisa,

You have written a very lovely note and I'm pleased to see a fine picture of Mrs. Itchy (wet) Feet heading off across the Pacific - perhaps Chile is her next stop!

This is a very evocative image, especially when viewed after reading your note, with a fine limited colour palette and fabulous light. The composition is superb: in no way does it obey rules like that of the "thirds" but the placement of Malgo, the outcrop of land on the left and the line of the water's edge and the horizon all adds up to a most pleasing composition indeed.

Fabulous light, lovely reflections like quicksilver on the water and exquisite details and clarity.

Fabulous!

Kind Regards,

John.

Hi Lisa
Looks like a great place to stroll, Interesting capture of an amazing beachscape and the sweeping view full of blueish tone but there is a good break of colors there; the smooth sandy beach and the dark clouds. The loner pulls all attention in as a strong focal and perspective. Lovely balanced exposure, blend of highlights with bags of mood. Indeed a beautiful scenic place, and a lovely photograph to remember it by. My congrats
Kind regards

Hi Dear Lisa

Hello Lisa
I've not (yet) met Malgo, but I suspect she'll be in the UK again soon! I love this, and feel that if it is removed for breaking to TOS, it will be a travesty. The mood is actually quite dark, and I suspect you've traded on this by tweaking the clouds a tad: if so, it's done well and with some subtlety. Good work.
Regards
Will

Ciao Lisa, Thanks a lot for this wonderful dedication and for all mthese marvelous moment we had together. beautiful pjhoto in blue and a fantastic memory.
I had no Internet lately so I coulkdn't post any my version of Coogee. Probably they will come from Warsaw.
We are moving like a wind thorough Australia. After the meeting we went to Three Sisters, then Brisbane. Yesterday we admired rainforest and wild dingoes on Fraser Island and tomorrow we will be in Cairns.
In Hervey Bay I was twice at surise on a pier, without tripod unfortunately :) but the photos are also nice.
Thanks a lot

Malgo

Looks like this one has made it, Lisa, and I'm glad - it's a beautiful shot, and Malgo's presence is indeed critical to it. A really clear sense of wandering into the great wide open here, stormy or not. Sounds like you all had a fun and productive meeting!

Carissima Lisa,

Hi Lisa
Some of the pictures are so attractive that the viewer feels is present in the scene, and has seen it before, this is the same picture, but the stormy weather, calm seas, probably before the storm, combining the color and feel

Dear Lisa,
I love the sea, it's just a beautiful place!
My son Daniel is until 22.05.2013 in Sydney, studied mining in Australia.
Wish you a good time
Wolfgang

Hello Dear Lisa,

The photo brings together two of my favorite people on Trekearth, both talented, warm, and unusually intelligent. The composition is spectacular, and would suffer immensely with the presence of the one of them wading into the surf. Without the person, I would score it 90%, with her 98%, with Malgorzata, it tops 100%, and I don't believe in inflated grading.

Warm regards,

Bulent

Gidday Lisa,
I love that the person pictured here is such san important part of the scene, but the tiny aspect of them in the frame certainly emphasize the nature that they are witnessing here. That sky is amazing, like a work of art!! Stunning scene, and the crashing waves adds really nicely to this,
All the best
Noel

love the loneliness and the pathos in this pic.beautiful composition in grey, with that human.

Simple and woderful. I like hte lonely person in the corner, giving us a great dimension of the sea and threatening sky, with great dark colors. Very well done, congratulations!
