Closer to the waterfront, we are looking at the intersection where Rumi Mehmet Paşa (Greek Mehmet Pasha) Street makes a T with Darende Street. I took this photo because stone houses like the one we see are rare in Istanbul.

Rum Mehmet Pasha was an Ottoman stateman who served as a vizier during the reign of Mehmed the Conqueror between 1466 and 1469. He was the child of a local Greek family from Constantinople, and was later taken over by the system of recruitment and became a Muslim. With the encouragement of Karamanli Mehmet Pasha, the counsel of the Conqueror who would become the Grand Vizier in 1477, he was dismissed and was strangled in 1470.

Hello Murat,

Istanbul an old-world city with the nice pittoresk narrow streets.
Composition and presentation are superb.
Sharpness and colours are nice to look at.
Very well done, TFS.

Have a nice weekend,
John.

Ciao Murat, great view of lovely corner, good perspective, wonderful colors, excellent clarity and splendid light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Bonjour, cher Murat,
Philippe

Hello Murat
I like this picture of, what seem to be just one of that small streets that a tourist only will pass when he lost the road. One moment of the other face of the metropolis. One moment of peaceful rest.
We, have a good weekend, Groet Rob

Hello Murat,
The beautifully illuminated stone house makes a delightful focal point. The walls in the foreground nicely direct our attention towards it. An interesting composition quite different to those we are used to seeing from Istanbul.

Hello Murat,
This photo offers an excellent impression of the town and these streets. The sidelight is very attractive and illuminates the houses and their different colours very nicely.
Lars

Hello Murat,

I was interested to read your reason for taking this photograph and so looked carefully at the stone building. You have detailed it well, for it is possible to see horizontal lines of brick at frequent intervals, a technique often used by the Roman builders. I wonder if there is a connection with Rome!
As always, your photograph is has good leads and is very well composed.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Murat,

I like the yellow green foliage of the tall tree at right & the tan facades of the buildings contrasting against the cooler tones of the blue sky. Tfs!

Hi Murat
A pretty little alley through the old buildings portraying the essence of the place ad the warm lights beckon us to enter and explore. Detail, colours and the mystery fig add to the appeal. A pleasure to view and credit to your photo works, Congrats
