Bonjour, cher Gert,
L'environnement ne semble pas intéresser ces jeunes femmes.
Elles sont totalement imprégnées à travers leur smartphone !
Comme quoi l'addiction peut être contagieuse ! ;o)

A great scene from everyday life, girls have a job and graffiti complements the atmosphere of photos.
Excellent frame, colors and sharpness.
Have a good day.

When I meet up with my close friends we are eye-to-eye and chat about everything that has happened recently and reminisce about so many things. I'm afraid the mobile phones are firmly in our bags, definitely not taking precedence!
However, this is a sign of the times! And, for your purpose, it makes a great photograph as the graffiti heads appear to be looking at them, their speech bubbles adding to the conversations!
In a difficult lighting situation, you have done extremely well and, of course, composed the whole with great care.
Have a lovely day,

A really cool photo and juxtaposition of these ladies and the graffiti mural. They were both really engaged in conversation, with someone else somewhere else... At least the two colourful heads seemed to be some kind of talking to one another. Great daily life capture.
A striking contrast between the 2 cartoon like street art figures at left and the 2 young women at right busy on their cell phones. I wonder who was trying to buy Porto? Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

The communication between people is totally change.
Only the mobile phone is the communicator.
Happy that you took the graffiti this gives additional colour to te picture.
An excellent composition, lovely presentation too.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice day,

Good evening Gert,
Nice "quick snap" with three subjects: The painted wall, the two lady-friends chatting and the contrast between the old stones as the base of the bridge and the newer concrete structure surround.
Simple, "nothing special" but looks as a well timed shooting session.
My best regards,

J'aime la composition, les drôles de graffitis et les deux dames intéresser par leurs smartphones, l'endroit ne semble pas les intéresser tout comme leurs conversations entre elles, là est le monde moderne de maintenant !!!

a coffee simple composition showing a daily
life scenery the colors of graffiti gives
a special bonus to the result
curious to read the phrase in english, a message for tourists. I read few days ago many portuguese are crazy because the big amount of visitors in the country. I would like to have 10,000 tourists by day in my town, we would not have an economic crisis, but they want everything perfect. haha.
nice flagrant of the modern times in evidence. quality is very nice.

You have captured well the action of the women. The point of view is showing the details of the graffitis. The light is giving good colours rendering. Have a nice day.

What a lovely catch! You could almost include it in your Smalltalk series, if texting could be considered "talk." I like the colors of the murals. Very charming photo, well done.

quel mur et blele pierre ces forme ce tons avec les deux dame au natel et quel mur en fond quel dessin colorés génaile et superbe compo
At thumbnail size I didn't see that they were busy using their mobile phones. Then I read you description first and expected the two women talking to each other. Then I thought: oh, the irony. :)
Anyway its a good picture, which is far more than a nothing special. It says something as the two graffiti talks with each other as much as the two girls.

Hello Gert, The nice scene under the bridge, but the graffiti is not especially attractive. I like your irony about the listening to each other. I am sure that when you meet friends you do not look at your mobile. :). So you had rain in Porto?
Strange this sign Porto is not for sale. I read your discussion. Too many tourists are a horror for many popular towns - Venice, Lisbon, Barcelona, also Krakow. Often the inhabitants have to move out, they rent their flats for AirB@B and live somewhere else.
Have a nice weekend

A long talk with a good friend is a nice thing indeed, but these two girls seem to be talking to other people invisible in the photo on Facebook or some other social media site. Still, they chose to do it together so I'm sure they share a secret or two about what they are up to on their phones.
I like the way you composed the photo with the graffiti and the two friends on one side, part of their urban environment rather than its centre. Their poses, the way their legs are crossed, mirror each other and the colours match the graffiti - even in case of the blue jeans and the "Porto is not for sale" slogan.

So Porto is not for sale? I will have to look elsewhere ...
Is there anything better than being busy by your smartphone in the company of a good friend?
Yes, you better do this in front of an entrance door, a staircase or another busy place instead of on a bench. These girls are very polite to their fellow man.
You've composed this daily life-picture very well.
Excellent clarity and sharpness.
Enjoy your Sunday, Paul

An intriguing photo. We are used to, having your own mobile communication before the contact with your travel companion. Maybe they send a picture of this funny graffiti to family and friends.
With the quality of the photo is nothing wrong, despite the dark environment. It just shows the atmosphere from under the bridge.
Have a good week, groet Rob

surprised not to see any WS photos.
to answer your questions...I don't ask permission at airports whether or not I can bring my drone bc 100% they're going to say no. Just take it. I've never had my drone or the lithium batteries taken away (only once in Ireland the airport security pulled me over and asked several questions etc etc, but it was ok).
The only time I had a problem was when i called Lufthansa before my flight in Vancouver to ask about the drone...of course they told me NO. So i didn't take the drone to Portugal - big mistake! I should have just taken it to the airport.
In my experience, airport security have lightened their stance on drones. I now go through the security check points with no issues at all, not even questions.
But I have to be smart, not stupid. For example...don't be stupid and fly a drone in NYC, don't fly to Russia with a drone and expect to fly it in Moscow etc etc...I know that will not be allowed and will be punished severely for it. Don't fly a drone at a major airport etc etc
Onto your photo...good for you to fine these two looking for shelter. as you say, the weather wasn't the best so you had to get a bit creative and look for other opportunities. I like the writing on the wall Porto is not for sale. this is a classic Gert shot

Interesting urban scene captured here, with typical elements such as the graffiti, but surprisingly there are good-looking women there, different of what would be expected if this bridge was here in my city, many times frequented by poor drug users that have nowhere to sleep... Very nice details captured with very good light and colors! Well done!

A frequent image of the two girls with their mobiles, but in a peculiar environment under the bridge with the wet and greenish stone and the two graffiti, which are a bit unpleasant to look at.
A magnificent color, good lighting and sharpness management.
Have a nice day.

This is a cool street view. I always enjoy some grit, some street art, and a bit of human presence. All of these elements come together nicely to produce an appealing scene. We also see, written in English, that "Porto is not for sale". ;-)

Hello Gert, I notice that both young ladies are looking at their smart phones, comparing notes perhaps?
You have created a well balanced composition, they fill the space nicely, particularly with their bright blue jeans.
The graffiti faces are quite impressive too.
