I walked everywhere in Amsterdam as the old city is compact and easy to get around, with many pedestrian bridges across the canals. As can be seen in the image there are both enclosed and also open tour boats that glide around the many canals of Amsterdam.

Here, I applied a sunscreen filter which warmed the image a lot almost like a sepia tone. I will load the original as a workshop.

Hi Chris
I was wondering about the unusual light but then I read your note. The background buildings almost look like a painting or miniature model. All quite effective.
cheers
Ian

Good day.
Interesting look and a moment, good text ...
Good work with nice photo in the workshop, beautifully shown tourist boats and architecture on the coast, beautifully captured moment with the clouds.
Nice tourist boats and facades of houses on the coast, a nice moment with passers-by.
I wish you a nice day, all the best.

Hello Chris,
The tour boats moored facing inwards make an interesting contrast with the uprights of the buildings lining the quay. The image is well framed and the colours nicely rendered with this warm sepia tint.

Hello Chris,
Nice capture from Amsterdam taken on a rainy day.
Very good birdseye view and nice layout.
Dark cloudy sky creates a perfect background.
Nice vivid scene of full cafe's and bars.
TFS and best regards

Bonjour Chris,

Amicalement

Serge

ciao Chris,
It's look like a classical picture, very good the greys and the colors (specially red and blue), a good result,
ciao, Giacomo

Hello Chris,

good image of this part of Amsterdam, I like the combination of boats and the typical houses of the city, you chose a good point of view, well seen,

Best regards,

Sergio

Bonjour, cher Chris,
Ce filtre a le don de transformer cette image en une vieille peinture (de ce fait très appréciée).
Le sujet est bien mis en valeur et ne manque pas d'originalité.
Amitiés.
Philippe

Hi Chris, this not invasive sepia filter is a good idea, perfect for lights and dark clouds like in this moment. Nice view on the boats used for trips on the canals, the POV from above is a winner,i like it! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Chris,

The filter makes indeed a better picture.
I've also on one of this boats made e trip around Amsterdam long time ago.
Sharpness and clarity are superb.
Good composition excellent captured.
Very well done, TFS.

Best regards,
John.

Hi Chris,
The filter indeed add nostalgic feeling. And is certainly a good choice as the light was far from optimal. And nothing there looks too modern either. It's been quite a while since I visited Amsterdam and I seem to have totally forgotten this place.
Kari

Hello Chris, YThere is something old style in this picture, maybe the dim light, or colours. I do not know. Interesting view of the tour boats waiting for passengers. I haven't used the tour boat in Amsterdam. it is possible to go everywhere and the canals are narrow, so the view is practically the same from the boat or the street.

Kind regards Malgo

Hi Chris
An interesting shot and lovely touch of almost sepia tones obviously looks older with minimal colours. I love the feel to this with plenty of interest throughout. Congrats
Best regards

Hello Chris

I like the grayish, almost desaturated feel of this image and the way the blue of the boats below stands out.

Benny

Hello Chris
Your beautiful photo provided of some extra sunlight let me puzzles for a while. This is clearly the Damrak, but from the side you took this photo you cannot see it from street-level because the houses are on and in the water, so you were in one of the buildings in the Warmoesstraat. Maybe the Hostel Meeting Point. When I am in that area again, I am going to see if I can find the right place.
Intriguing presentation.
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hi Chris
warmer tones indeed.
Too bad about the scaffolding on the left, but what can you do, in a way it adds visual interest. smart set up, the entire frame is basically used up. lots to see in every section. If you look at it funny, it kind of has the sense that its a model on a large table haha
cheers
Craig

Hello Chris,

What a difference between the two examples: with or without the filter.
The filtered version does look much warmer and has a sort of resemblance to a painting.
The boats, from their orientation, lead nicely to the quayside and then on to the shops, which are at right angles to the vessels.
There is a lot to see and all very well captured in your photograph.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris,
This is a nice view of the tour boats waiting for tourists on a dreary day. I had to switch between the original and filtered image several times to decide which one I like better, I still can't decide.
Regards,
MT
