[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Tram line of Oranjestad was opened in 2012. The main purpose of this charge free line is obviously to take cruise ship passengers from the port to the main shopping street of Oranjestad. Aruba's streetcars are powered by batteries augmented by hydrogen fuel cells. There are no overhead wires which makes double deck open top safer to passengers. (This shot of Beverley shows that overhead wiring is not an absolute obstruction to open top operation.)

Hi Kari

This looks like one of the Dutch islands in the Caribbean. A fine upward pov with excellent sharpness and wonderful warm cold color contrasts between the yellow and blue. Tfs!

Hello Kari,
A modern streetcar and a very beautiful one!
Hopefully the tram network is quite extensive in Oranjestad.
Certainly as interesting as a hop on hop off bus.
A very attactive and bright picture.
Best regards, Paul

Ciao Karl, great view of fantastic tram, excellent perspective, good clarity and wonderful colors very well done done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Bonjour Kari,

Tant qu'à visiter une ville en touriste aussi bien s'asseoir à l'impériale pour admirer de haut sans entraves du trafic. Ce petit train est vraiment beau.

Amicalement

Serge

Hello Kari,
Really good photo of this large open top streetcar in appealing blue colours with some golden touches. The cruise ship makes a good background as well. I like the sunlight a lot too as well as the good POV and composition.
Lars

Hello Kari

Definitely a Streetcar Named Desire! A fine old modern tram... It fills the frame well; I just wonder if the car behind it adds anything to the composition. Not easy to remove it however.

Regards

Will

Olá Kari,
curioso esse bonde turístico aqui, e a composição ficou ótima com o navio ao fundo também. Belas cores aqui.
Parabéns e Abraço,
Lucas

Hello Kari,

This is a fine photograph, well composed with strong colours and sharp details.
The colourful tram is perfectly placed in the frame and makes a pleasing guide inwards.
I think this tram is much more elegant with its sleek lines and probably makes less noise.
I think both yours and mine have their rightful places in history!

Have a lovely Sunday,
Bev :-)

Hi Kari
hmmm...interesting...i wonder how touristy Aruba is, i'm getting the feeling its VERY touristy. I'd like to hear your thoughts about it. and as you mentioned in your note we can see the cruise ship in the bg...i enjoy seeing these Aruba shots, i totally forgot about this destination.

Craig

Hello Kari, You have written a fascinating note and given us a beautiful photograph to illustrate it.

This very elegant and colourful tramcar certainly steals the show, standing out brilliantly in its shiny blue livery against its background. Not quite so attractive are the upper parts of a massive cruise ship in the background but, as you have pointed out in your note, cruise ships and tourism are the raison d'être of the trams.

A gorgeous photograph, well composed with lovely light, rich colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

Excellent!

Kind Regards,

John.

P.S. Like Craig, I am intrigued by Aruba. I know little or nothing about it. Is it a pleasant tourist destination or is it just a little "too" touristy? - if you know what I mean.
