Urvinum Hortense
Near Collemancio, in the commune of Cannara there is one of the most interesting and less known archaeological sites in Umbria, the ruins of the ancient Urvinum Hortense, probably founded in the III century BC. during the consolidation of the Roman military positions in the Umbrian area, on the site of an ancient pre-Roman vicus. Around the fifth century the village went to depopulation and abandoned, which became total when, in 545 the goths of Totila sacked the city.

Interesting view, good text ...
Beautifully shown, good perspective and contrast, beautiful colors.
Beautiful old architecture - ruin.
I wish you good afternoon, all the best.

Hello Silvio,
It may seem like a simple photo, but the diagonal line made by the ancient wall is very attractive, thanks to the rough beauty of the huge stones and the warm light. Just the knowledge of the long history of this place is enough to make it impressive. The excellent exposure and sharpness are other great assets of this photo.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Silvio,
I like very much the oblique point of view along these huge stones. The golden colours and textures look quite beautiful under the warm October light.

Hi Silvio,

The point of view is showing the details of the ruins of the ancient Urnivinum Hortense. It is clear and precise. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Hello Silvio, the question is... how did they manage to lift these stones and place them just so?
Good, sharp composition with the wall making a strong diagonal line.
I wonder too, what was discovered by archaeologists in this area?
Regards Jean.

Ciao Silvio

Ottima diagonale
Saluti
Carlo

Dear Silvio!
Superb stone by stone.
Fine place.
Nice lightness and colours.
Mysterious shadow.
Good contrast.
Sophisticated effect.
Well done!

Buona sera Silvio,
Whenever I see such a picture, I ask myself how did the masons did this job in the old era with no modern machines and no cranes to mount the big blocks in such a meticulous manner.
Intriguing subject, well shown scene.
Arrivederci,
Ike

Hello Silvio,

I like the textural details of the rough stone wall as well as its diagonal alignment adding dynamism and a 3d effect. TFs!

Hi Silvio
An interesting capture of the ruins on a beautiful golden hour and good use of pov just the right time of day bringing up it's detail and loads of textures. Contrast to blue sky can't be better than this, excellent take, Congrats.
Best wishes

Ciao Silvio ,
The view of this old ruin is quite simple , but the perspective is excellent , and the contrasts and shades make the difference.

Hello Silvio,
Simple but pretty photo of these humble ruins. I like the leading lines generated by the stones. Well done!
