Ponte
The castle of Ponte has origins dating back to Lombard, where there resided a powerful steward, which extended its jurisdiction over the whole territory of the Nera Valley, is located on a hill shaped like a cone, built at Mt. 441 s. l. m, a spiral along a single street, which once reached the fortress, of which few traces remain.
His name is almost certainly linked to the presence nearby of a Roman bridge, which also stands in his arms, as well as that of Cerreto, the current settlement is divided into different groups: the fortress built in the top of the hill, the castle developed its access road, the town built outside the walls, the district developed around the Parish Church Square and the town built along the newer roads that branch off from the country, the first two are pretty devastated, while the rest was largely restored, although it has lost some of its original features.
Going up to the fortress, however, you can also see the different doors and to the former Town Hall, current home of the local agrarian community, with curtain walls and Romanesque portal bearing the coat of arms in the lunette

Hello Silvio,
A very pretty view of this road leading up to the castle of Ponte with the two arches under which one passes and with the third one which offers a look at the scenery on the right.
I'm not sure if we see snowcapped peaks on the distance or are it clouds ...
Best regards, Paul

Three beautiful arches that remain intact from ancient eras, and the wet bricks shine on the way to the view-point balcony on the far side, Silvio.
Nice effect collected, intriguing POV.
Buona serata,
Ike

Hi Silvio,

The road going through the arches is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of this section of the castle. The good luminosity is bring out the colors. Have a nice day.

Ciao Silvio
non potevi certo farti sfuggire questa occasione, una bellissima serie di archi messa insieme con grande maestria.
Molto bello il panorama che si vede attraverso l'ultimo arco.
Saluti

Hi Silvio
this is another one of those wow subjects, i'd love to see this in person. Its history and age alone is incredible. and the addition of the door on the left makes it even better. I wonder what's behind it. the blue/white sky adds another dimension and contrasting colour, sweet subject and atmosphere. cheers

Ciao Silvio,
Ottima prospettiva architettonica del ponte,
splendidi colori ottima nitidezza ,
complimenti e cari saluti,
Costantino

Hello Silvio,
A very nice composition of the tiled road surrounded by the well built walls and beautiful vaults. In the distance there is what seems like a lovely view of the surrounding scenery. The three rounded vaults create a fine rhythm.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Silvio
Your view point helps the eye to wander in-depth into the olde world guided by the arches and cobbled narrow path revealing its architectural detail overwhelmed by aged gritty texture of the stonework. An appealing historical sight that you've achieved a good balance of exposure, great colours and superb contrast. Excellent lens work, Congrats
Best regards

Hi Silvio

The title of this photo should be: Three Arches. We have to look under one of the arches to see the others, and this is what makes this photo a very original one. I also like the colors, the texture of the walls and the old wooden door. A great photo.

regards
Robert

Hello Silvio,
All this beautifully rendered textural detail is entirely to my taste. I also like the composition that makes good use of the succeeding arches and the cobbled path to draw the viewer into the scene.

Hello Silvio,

I like the fg arch framing the 2 other arches in the bg. Good sharpness and terrific warm cold color contrasts between the blue grey cloudy sky and warmer rust red tones of the stones and tiles. Tfs!

Hello Silvio,
A great photo of this castle. The sharpness is superb which makes it possible to see every single detail of the stones most clearly. The three arches in the composition are really nice. Well captured and composed.
Lars

Hello Silvio
Fascinating composition of this part of the castle with the three arches all in different direction. Maybe a deep blue sky had served this scene better, but the weather gods often ignore our wishes. But even with these clouds: a beautiful picture
Have a nice day. Groet Rob

Magnifique la texture rendue des pierres, le POV qui inclus les trois arches, une image merveilleusement bien réaliser a tout point vue
Belle soirée

Ciao Caro Silvio,

The many arches and the very sharp textures immediately become apparent whe looking at your photograph. I like how you have used the first arch as an introduction to the upward pathway which guides so effectively from f/ to b/g.
A very well composed and exposed photograph.

My warm regards,
Bev 😊
