La Mothe-Saint-Héray is a common Frenchwoman, located in the department of Two-Sevres of the Poitou-Charentes area, populated of 1802 populated of 1802 Mothais, distributed on 15 km ², that is to say 119 hab. /km ².
La Mothe-Saint-Héray, was born from the unification, in 1404, of the boroughs of Saint-Héray of Ve century, and la Mothe of IXe century.

La Mothe-Saint-Héray is proud of his historical characters with of which the abbot Jallet honoured by a bust close to the Orangery.
Abbot JALLET, was at the origin in 1789 of the meeting of the three orders, (Clergy, aristocracy, third estate ), in only one Parliament.
On June 13, 1789, Jacques Jallet, deputy of Poitou to the General states, is the first priest to join the third estate, "tiers état", and directs the priests who want to join the third estate. From this determining gesture is born fusion from the three orders and, 5 days after, the National Parliament. Jacques JALLET is born in 1732 with Mothe-Saint-Héray, and chooses the seminar following a sentimental disappointment. He was a time vicar in Gencay before being named parish of Chérigné, near to Chef-Boutonne, where he exerted his ministry until the Revolution. Modeste country priest, JALLET appeared a defender of the Human rights. He was an adversary of the capital punishment as well as celibacy of the priests. Died in Paris in 1791.
It appears, among others, on a famous painting, “le serment du jeu de Paume” of Jacques-Louis David 1748-1825.

Merci Joel, meilleures amities,

Branko

Joel,
The vertical format is perfect here showing the height of the church which is well framed by the trees and bushes. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.
