[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the poignant Nimes War Memorial, commemorating the loss of local residents & soldiers in 2 world wars, and the Indochina (1946-1954) and Algeria (1954-1962) wars. The dates of the 1st world war are embossed on the bg gate (1914-1918)

There are lists of their names on both sides of the stairs and the names of some of the battlefields within the circle.

Beautifully shown, good perspective and contrast, beautiful colors.
Nice Nimes War Memorial.

Bonjour Chris,

Les arbres cadrent bien le monument. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du monument à la mémoire de ceux qui sont décédés lors des dernières guerres. La lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Pierre

Hello Chris,

I think it must have been difficult to decide upon the composition of this photograph but I like your decision.
To have included the whole memorial would have given problems of linking with the b/g.
I like how the circular feature makes a very natural guide to the curved steps, whilst the view through the arch gives a really good sense of depth.

How sad that there is litter on the memorial.
Litter is one of my great hates!!

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris
The joy of some bright colours on the fg has brightened up the whole thing there as the eye is subsequently connected to the main feature. Excellent shot and tx to your useful notes, Congrats
Best regards

Bonjour Chris,

Comme je vois l'arène en arrière plan, je constate que je suis passé tout près de ce mémorial et que je ne l'ai pas vu. Merci beaucoup de corriger cette lacune par une aussi belle photo.

Amicalement

Serge

Nice documentation, a very good photo with perfect quality, such memorials are left for the youngest generation, I hope they will understand it

Hello Chris,
Another perfect capture and TE entry in your gallery. Taken with perfect pov and ligth management. Very good sharpness.
Seeing those war memorials mainly in Europe I allways think, that those are silent evidences of the past and people should get lectures from them.
But.... ?

TFS and best regards

Belle présentation du Mémorial,
Bon POV, cadrage et couleurs
Bonne journée
cricri

the tight frame of the possible view of the monument, indicate about its size and specially wide, Chris.
I can see clearly beautiful mosaic work on the wind-rose with names in the directions of diff. towns.
Added well partial view of the area beyond.
Good night,
Ike
