The church. October 27th, 2010. (3 images).

_ The gothic Pont-Vieux bridge, of the 13th century, built about 1270, crosses the SORGUES river. Classified historic building since 1886.

A first church built at the 5th century, was followed by other built churches to the same place in 1214, in 1396, in 1620.
The current church built from 1894 to 1905 and devoted in 1913, comprises an immense nave and a bell-tower whose spire reaches 71 meters height.

The stained glasses tell the miracles of Affricanus, a bishop driven out of Commingues by the Visigoths and installed in the area, at the 5th century, from which the name of the city.

Hello Joel, the over all image is most pleasing with excellent detail in the bridge and also the church and buildings beyond, all under a clear blue sky.Lovely.
Best regards
Les.

Ciao Joel,

Pierre

Hi Joël,
I like the way you have chosen your POV here, with the bridge separating the background hills from the beautiful blue sky. The bridge and the spire are perfectly placed compositionwise. Beneath the bridge we can enjoy a little separate view with its own value. A very attractive and pleasant picture!
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hi Joel.
Another fine shot from this area between Toulouse and Montpellier - thanks for the map coodinates.
Marvellous reflection, and the river bank curves in sync with the reflected arch! The circle becomes a good frame for the view of the next bridge and town buildings. You captured the detail and the late Summer light very nicely. These very old bridges had a great simplicity and beautiful proportions in their designs.
Best wishes,
Andrew

Amicalement

Hello Joël,
The architectural forms and their optical reflection in the water are simply beautiful in this sunny, colorful and very high quality picture. Excellent point of view, well thought-out composition, wonderful light, lovely colors and, in general, great job!
Best regards,
Sergiy

Bonjour Joel!
Beautiful composition. The arch under the bridge and another bridge and buildings, contrapuntally of the church tower, a beautiful composition constitute. The colors are excellent, the sharpness, not otherwise. The water is a mirror of the bonus.

Hi Joel,
Very interesting composition of this beautiful place. Really like the gothic bridge and church taken in a great scenery. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Best, Malgorzata

Roger

Joel,
This is a great shot of this bridge and spire. The low POV is fine using the bridge to provide framing for the scene. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness. The river leads the eye into the shot perfectly as well as creating a diagonal through the shot. The deep blue sky provides a great backdrop for the shot.
TFS,
Asa

Hi Joel,
a superb view, the composition is spectacular, beautiful details and lights, the atmosphere of the photo is great, Tfs! Have a nice day! Kellemes napot kívánok!

Hello Joël,
Judicious use of the square format to frame this well thought out composition. The ambient light is particularly attractive and there are some agreeable reflections to be seen in the slow running waters of the river. Fine technical presentation. Bravo!

Bonjour Joël,
this is a very interesting composition and a very fascinating one. You took a great advantage of the perspective. Very moody colors and a beautiful light of early autumn. TFS!
Warm regards

Hello Joël,

Two competing subjects, adding dynamics to the image!
The amazing stone bridge in front frames the view nicely, while the majestic church calls for attention in its own right...
Amazing sharpness, a well exposed scene!

Greetings,
Pablo -

Excellent travail! Salutations amicales!

Antonio

hi Joel
alot of wonderful visual elements combined together.
you have a low point in the water, a high point way up in the sky, and a unique peek-a-boo in the circular middle.
