Latour castle, Marnhagues-et-Latour

Real castle.
Virtual castle.

This castle altered at the 12th 15th 16th centuries, is quoted at the 9th century on this rock headland which overhangs Sorgues and the village of Latour.

This other ignored castle in our french countryside, property of the commune, is in the course of restoration by the Friends of the Castle of Latour.

MARNHAGUES-ET-LATOUR is a french commune, located in the department of Aveyron of the Midi-Pyrénées area, populated of 132 Bernagols-and-Latounains in 1999, distributed out of 22 km², hab./km² is 6.

The commune, located at the center of the valley of the Sorgues river, is composed of the village of Latour and the hamlets of Marnhagues and La Roquaubel.

The village of Latour is built on the site of a Roman oppidum.

Hi Joel
The chateau is nothing special but with the rows of old houses below and the reflections in the river you landed up with a good interesting photo.
cheers
Ian

Hi Joel

An unusual looking castle, at least in this view.An interesting collection of architectural styles. Good composition.

Bonjour Joel,
what a wonderful place and a building that once had been a beautiful castle. Unfortunately it is in a bad shape today.
There is also a very interesting history behind this place. Most of all I like the very well working POV showing so many fascinating details. A very interesting document; TFS!
Warm regards
Harriet

hi Joel

TFS!

Hello Joël,
I like this composition and the way the buildings rise up in layers from the riverside culminating in the massive castle. Also, the inclusion of the ribbon of reflections at the bottom of the frame. The image is well presented with good light, colours and sharpness.

Hello Joel,
The point of view is showing with precision the details of these old facades. Well done.
best wishes,
Achim

Joel,
This is a well composed shot of this fine castle with the cobbled homes in the foreground. The tree on the right adds depth as well as framing for the shot. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness.
TFS,
Asa

Salut Joel,

Amicalement

Serge

Ciao Joel,
I like this one because is a beautiful TE shot: speaking about the long history of France and of this castle, showing the work of many generations, building and destroing, but always chosing the same place to live.
And ther's also an excellent tecnique: great POV and light management, perfect sharpness and beautiful colors, with a natural deep blue sky.
TFS
Laura
P.S: this place remember me of a little castle near Florence, where I work, Calenzano... if you will wonder about there one day, let me know and I will show it to a great photographer

Hi Joel,
nice the view of this strange castle that in nowandays is surrounded from new houses of the village.I like the clarity of the scene as the clear and beautiful colours of the image.Well done.

Have a nice weekend,danos

Bon Samedi,
Neyvan

Bonjour Joel,
the architecture of this castle is so strange: it really seems like they have build one house on top another one and so on. I like the artistic mess here.
Excellent presentation with some reflection on the foreground.
Great weather provided perfect light.
Very well done,
M

Joel,

You frequently present a France that is timeless and immersed in history. This is a beautiful shot that captures not only the castle, but the buildings of the town around it. A wonderful little reflection in the foreground and some great framing from the trees on the right. A masterful shot, thanks and regards, Iain.
