The Barony castle, or castle of the bishops, fortified castle and keep of the 11th 12th 15th centuries, 80 m out of 50 m, listed in 1025, castle of bishops of Poitiers.
It included a quadrangular keep of the 12th century, measuring 22 meters out of 17, whose walls are thick of 1.80 to 2.30 meters.

The city of Chauvigny, the city with five castles, 10th 15th centuries, was founded around the year 1000, by the bishops of Poitiers, lords of Chauvigny then barons as from the 15th century.
It is built on a rocky outcrop of 350 m, formed by the valleys of Vienne river and Talbat river.
A 2 km length enclosure surrounded with the 15th century four churches and five castles built in the vicinity to each other.
The first bishop of Poitiers lord of Chauvigny is Isembert 1st, died in 1047. The bishops followed one another until 1789.

_The CASTLE KEEP of GOUZON, fortified castle of the 11th 12th centuries, which belonged to bishops of Poitiers as from 1335.

_The CASTLE of MONTLÉON, of the 11th century, fortified castle listed at the 10th century, which belonged to bishops of Poitiers as from 1295.

_The CASTLE says the TOWER of FLINS, fortified castle of the 12th 15th centuries.

As from 1346, the city was strongly tested by the One hundred Year old War, the Wars of religion, the French revolution. It was restored as from 1843.

Hi Joel,
Very nice capture of that picturesque ruins. I like the strong colors and the birds that brings a little life over this old ruins. Well done.
Have a nice weekend.

Good Morning Joel,

This really jumped out at me, even as a thumbnail, it is so well composed, with the curved lead and the bordering walls.
Even in its state of dilapidation, the castle looks imposing and forbidding!
A fine dof keeps the shot sharp and renders lovely structural and environmental details.

Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Amitiés et bon WE,
Roger

Hi Joel,
very pleasant composition with the road turn in the foreground. I like especially the side light, the shadow creates an almost 3D effect here.
There is also an attractive subtle touch of clouds in the sky.
Very eye catching presentation, the ruins seem very unique and interesting,
Have a good weekend

Bonjour Joel ,

It is very intersting too compare your three pictures here. They are all very similar, but with small POV differences. They are all very good and you can of course find different opinion on which one is actually the best one. Still, a very intersting ruined castle here. Very attractive colours and the perfect note for these uploads:
Kind regards
Gunnar

Buonasera Joel
buona notte

Bonsoir Joel, This is a clear and crisp shot of these ruins. The bend in the road with the small enclosure is an exceptional device for highlighting the old structure. The new versus the old contrasting. Abd yes, the birds provide a bit of composition as well. Great notes as well. Nicely done. Regards, Roger

The dominating lines leading up to the ruin add dynamics to the composition!
Interesting colour palette consisting of shades of grey and blue, good texture in the stone structures...
A well balanced scene with good sense of depth!

Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello Joël,
These picturesque ruins look extremely beautiful in your picture due to the wonderful foreground and interesting blue background with the flock of birds. Excellent composition and highest quality!
Best regards,

Hi Joel, A nicely composed photo well framed, the light offers warmth & that blue sky adds beauty to these ancient ruins, a great addition is the flock of birds as they bring the picture to life, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Joel,

A wonderful shot - nicely composed with the curve in the bottom left and the vertical wall on the right framing the main castle structure. Good depth of field with all the walls crystal sharp.

regards and thanks, Iain
