Excellent street capture. I like her relaxed pose sitting on the balustrade. Ideally framed for a strong composition and perfect technical realisation.

Good contrast between the lady's old and conventionnal dress and the fact that she is using a mobile phone. As you say, it's nothing special, we see many people in the streets using their mobile phones, but it's a good mark of the new century.
Have a nice sunday

The ongoing proliferation of the mobile phone distracts us all, and this is a great example. Only metres away and she didn't notice you, but that have got the chance to get this great candid photo. Nicely done
its funny, you can really see and tell the difference in the two buildings. And what an impact an new coat of yellow paint can make huh!? its night and day comparing the two.
for me personally, there are 2 elements which stood out for me right away, can you guess?
the green door and its design patterns, and the large heavy black lock on it. now thats a locking mechanism!
imagine how different this scene would be if that green door was a drab grey like the steps, it just wouldn't have the same impact. another fine post of talking away. i like it

Dear Gert, My neighbour today,
So the category is officially merged into nothing special? :O
Anyhow, this is a simple, but fine street candid.

Hi Gert, for me one of your most beautiful pic of your serie "small talk". This time the alone woman and her mobile, but the composition and the way of how she's dressed are lovely. A great shot, and a very interesting view from this estonian city very rare to see on TE.Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

I'm always fascinated by images of people wearing traditional (real or just for show for tourists) clothes and using accessories that seemgly belong to another epoch. You caught her in the right moment, her face shows she is deeply engrossed in conversation.
To answer the question in your last critique - I've got some paperwork to look through and some stuff to read but other than that I can only do a couple of hours' work as I forgot to bring the charger for my work laptop... In a way it was... a nice surprise... but I'll regret it on Monday.
Have a nice Sunday! :-)

It looks like a backstage scene, when an actress has a minute to call to somebody. Simple but very attractive daily life moment. Fine details of the traditional clothes and the old door.

this is a different talk, I like the composition with the waitress wearing a traditional costume, I also like the green door in the back, well seen,

A sight we see all around in modern era, Gert, but this lady with her traditional dress for work, and the special hat, looking different to my eyes. Both this pic. and the WS with the yellow-cream tone facade are well made photojob.
Simple and yet beautiful outcome.
The combination is a little incongruous, the lady in period costume conversing on very modern equipment!
Having made that observation, this is a fine close-up of the waitress, clearly defining her facial expression and her outfit. The steps create a very natural guidance to viewers, leading from f/g to b/g and we are extremely curious to view what's beyond the doorway!
My warm regards,

Also your second picture is wonderful but your main picture with the comely lady is superb.
This create depth and perspective.
Also soft colours and peaceful place.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice evening,

Bonjour, cher Gert,

Hello Gert, very good photo of this interesting scene of everyday life with the lady talking on the phone, very well captured in this interesting image, with good clarity, light, color and quality. A great work perfectly done, my congratulations, my friend. Thank you for sharing this interesting work.
Good night and happy start to the week.
All the best from the south of Spain.

Hello Gert, I wanted to post a picture "big talk" but I had not time yet to see my today photos. I remember from Tallinn that they like such traditional dresses in restaurants and many shops. Good for pictures. Funny that now the talk is by mobile. Nice picture.
I enjoy wonderful days in Spain, it is warm and sunny and spring in full.
Kind regrads MAlgo

Hello dear Gert and have a nice time
and a happy new day
simple but nice
interesting and original
your inspiration about
small talk is clever
welldone and wellseen
I like the wider context and the information in the workshop picture but I think that the close up is really interesting as the lady seems to be emerged in a serious conversation, her expression and gesture show some sort of tension. It's a great contribution to your "small talk" theme with the traditional costume, the interesting context and the harmonious colours you got. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,
PS I'm sorry I had to stay away from TE for a while, I think and hope that after a busy and strenuous period, I can be present as usual again.

Another fine entry in this 'small talk' series, with good sharpness and excellent color and saturation. The woman seems totally absorbed in the conversation. Tfs!

Veldig bra:)
Ha en fin kveld.

Magnificent portrait of this woman, talking absently with her mobile, her work uniform reminds us of a typical costume of the area, the image of WS more open shows us a nice property for the restaurant.
Very beautiful colorful, in a few tones, very attractive.
Good lighting management and superb sharpness.
Very well done. I like it.
You have a good day.

This scene is simple, but lovely. I like the traditional clothes of the worker, and the green door behind her is charming, too. Of course the mobile phone tells us that this photo was taken recently, and not in the past. If she weren't using the phone, we could imagine this scene was much older.

Many nothing special moments form our lives.

The typical clothes of the woman make this photo so special! The clean background, with only some architectural details of the house, also makes it look more attractive! Perfect colors and sharpness! Wonderful job!

As you imply in your notes, what creates the interest here is the droll juxtaposition of period costume and modern technology. Well spotted and grabbed!

heheheh what an original and compelling series of photos. Small talk is going on everywhere, all day every day. It's amazing how we don't pay attention to it, it's like background noise. And this lady in a traditional, timeless costume looks so incongruous with the modern mobile telephone.
Thanks for sharing a happy Easter to you and your family

You have captured well the action of the woman and her expression. The point of view is showing the details of her clothings. The light has a good effect on the colours. Have a nice day.

It is a pity the small series small talk ends here. I hope you find in the future an opportunity for a small encore. I remember in Estonia as well in Latvia old times (clearly before the Russians came) are very popular and I also remember the good local food in the restaurants.
Looking at her face this must has been a serious conversation.
Have a good Sunday

Very beautiful combination of someone in grandmother's clothes with the modern habit of having to call all the time.
To me it looks a bit funny to see this lady without feet. Or perhaps she didn't have shoes matching her outfit :)
Best regards, Paul
