Opera Reflections

I found time again to upload a new picture. I chose this one, that I used as the desktop image on my computer the last weeks. It's another view of the new Opera-building in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Operaen has been built between June 2001 and October 2004 and opened in January 2005. The building is located on the island of Holmen, north of Christianshavn and opposite to the Royal Palace Amalienborg and Marmorkirken (Marble Church). The architect behind this project is Henning Larsen.
Operaen is a donation to the Danish state by A.P. Møller and Chastine McKinney-Møller Foundation. Møller was the co-founder of the company Maersk.

Marmorkirken (Marble Church) is also visible, it's the cupola. The real name is Frederiks Kirke (Frederik Church). The church was designed by Nikolai Eigtved in 1740, but first completed in 1894.

Hola Lars.
A very good reflection of the opera building, you captured it with good colors and details. Great POV. Beautiful architecture. Well done. I thought about you and your reflection pictures when I was in Miami on vacation, there is a shot posted by me in TE here
with building reflecting another building, hope you like it.
Best regards.

I am a bit mixed about that one: the reflexion is very nice, with a good blue color, but you also see a lot of the people inside the cafeteria (if not the case, it look like one) with deserve a bit the image.

All the best,

Emmanuel

Philippe

Hello Lars,

Hi Lars,
A very interesting mirror effect!
I like very much the double view here, almost two in one!
It's very good your POV that let us see the people into the opera building, it really looks great place to sit and enjoy the view.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

It's not only the reflections in the windows but on the ceiling too. You are very good at spotting these opportunities. Good work

Dag Lars,

Bravo
Xavier

Hi Lars,
Very nice reflections in this gorgeous composition. I like your POV and how you framed the picture.
TFS and greetings

Hello Lars,
I think it's a good idea that you had. However, I don't think this picture is that good compared to the rest of your portfolio.
Let me explain...First, there is nothing straight there. I'm not the kind of person who likes everything straight, but in this kind of shot, you need some straight lines that would give a direction, that would clean it up a little. So many lines here going in many directions. For example, look at the top: you have the white line, the black one, then the aluminium ceiling with the lights...By croping the top and keeping only the reflections, you would clean it up a little.
Second, you were not standing straight in front of the building...In this kind of pic, if you don't have a corner of the building which lets you take 2 sides of the building, there is no reason not to stand straight in front of it. I know you wanted to keep Frederik Church, but that could have been done altogether. The result is that there is a strange perspective that is easily visible when looking at the 2 doors(again lines going nowhere, especially that there edges are near the edges of the photo).
Finally, the result is rather dull actually...The reflection is beautiful but not easy to find with the cafeteria inside the building that's way too loud...
Best regards,
Marc

Hello Lars,
I was browsing and came across your fine image taken at the most perfect time of the day. The colours are outstanding and the light is perfect. I don't think you could better the quality or the sharpness, they are just outstanding. It's a superb capture lars.

Regards,Danos

Hi Lars, fascinating reflections with wonderful light and splendid colors, great composition, very well done, ciao Silvio

Amazing futuristic reflcetions! The most attractive is the colour. Well done
Best wishes,
Achim

Hi Lars
Nice reflection of the opera. Very good capture - I like to watch what is reflected in the window, missing what is inside :).

Halo Lars
you and reflections :)
very nice combination of the building and people sitting on the restaurant. well seen and nicely captured

Hi Lars - attractive image combination, though the reflections are blurry, I would crop a smidgen from the top to get rid of the black horizontal line of the roof.

Why not ? The idea of reflection is interesting. I maybe wish we see the life in the cafe not so much. But it works.

He Lars,
Leuke foto!

groet Rob

Olá Lars, this is also a wonderful one for your theme of reflections. Good framing of the monuments in the background and specially the cupola of the marble church and nice inclusion of the two men sat in FG. I like the thin stripe of sun and also the blue stripe of water that together with this slight tiltness to the right gives me a dizzy sense of being in a boat ;-)

ricardo
