Holmens Kirke

Today a capture in the same style as Den Tyska Kyrkan in Göteborg and Frederiksborg Slot in Hillerød.
It shows you Holmens Kirke in the heart of Copenhagen, opposite to the building of the Parliament, Christiansborg. The church can also be seen at my two picture of Slotsholmen in day- and nighttime.

Holmens Kirke (the Church of Holmen) was orignally an anchor forge (built in 1563 by King Frederik II), but King Christian IV transformed it into the Church (1619) for the Danish Navy. The chapel along the canal was constructed in 1708.
It is also the church where Queen Margrethe II (when still Crown Princess) was maried to the French Count Henri de Montpezat (Prince Henrik) in 1967.
The church is here reflected in Slotsholmskanalen. I took this picture from about the same place as this one of Børsen.

Hope you like it!

Hallo Lars,
Mooie spiegeling. Ik zal hem aan het desbetreffende thema toevoegen. Ik denk dat je nog wat commentaar krijgt omdat de echte kerk er niet op staat.
groet Rob

Well done. The waves of water an the colour are very nice. I like a lot.

What a marvellous reflection you have captured. The clarity is superb and the vibrant colours marvellous. Very well done!!
Best wishes
Mark

Nice reflection. You composed it well, but maybe it would have been better, if possible, to take a POV farther to the right so you could keep the tires out of the frame, as they spoil the classical feel of the shot a little bit.

Thanks!
sam

Lars, this reflections are beautiful. I like the contrast on the water and your point of view. Nice theme and the scene was very good.
Sergio

Hi Lars
Nice idea. I like the color and the geometry of this nice reflection.
Well done
Bertrand

I love reflection shots, Lars, and this is a fine example. The ripples in the surface give a slightly surreal appearance to the church's mirror image. Nice composition, I like the fact you have included just a little of the wall itself where it borders the water. And the row of car tyres to act as buffers on the boat jetty.
Well done
Peter

The distorted reflections are wonderful here. You almost have an abstract image with very vibrant colours. Well spotted.
Kath

A very nice reflexion which I will take for itself rather than for the church it reflects, since it is rather blurred here. But the bright blue of the water is wonderfull.

All the best,

Emmanuel

Hi Lars, A fun and abstract view of the architecture. The rippled water made the building standing up with an incredible position. I enjoy the contrast and the sharpness of this picture. Well done.

Hi Lars,
A beautiful and imaginative picture. We can only guess, how the church actualy looks like and this is what makes the photo interesting. Well done.

Thanks,
Marek

Lars, on se laisse séduire par les couleurs et la composition de la photo qui est plus proche de la peinture que de la photo reportage. Excellent !
Jacques

Hej Lars,
Another wonderful reflection of yours. I never get tired of seeing these distortioned images. Good composition and excellent colours. I love the graphic detail of the tires in the back, but to tell you the truth I think I would cut a bit (not everything) of the overexposed white wall in the background. Just a small detail. Hope you don't mind...
Hilsen,
Ricardo

HellO Lars,
Nice reflection which gives this image a cubist feel.
I think you should reduce the highlights and brightness cause there is some very harsh light.
Regards
Daniel

Bonjour Lars,
Humm! joli reflet laissant deviner l'architecture de cette église. Superbes couleurs . Excellent.
Bonne journée.
Martine

Hi Lars - brilliant idea, at first I wanted to cut off the top part, but now I realise it works better with the wall included, I tried a workshop anyway, just to play with the brightness.

Hej Lars!

You got a very nice result on that reflection. The ripples on the water add a lot of motion and create some sense of surrealism.

The composition and exposure are very good.

Best regards, saludos,
Carlos

Hello Lars, this wobbly reflection is very colourful. Thanks for this touch of modern art on TE today.

Hej Lars, mooi bijna abstract beeld. De vervormde reflectie van de architectuur is interessant and de texture van het licht getroubleerde water is prachtig. De kademuur is wat overbelicht maar dat stoort hier niet. Mooi werk en een goed zonnig weekend toegewenst!

Hi Lars...
Yes, i like this style of reflection, and that one came very nice with strong colors and sharp details, good texture of water... in short : well done!!
Laurent

Hi Lars
Excellent use of the reflection technique. The blue water is amazing and delivers a richly coloured composition. Great impact and nice framing of the church with these terracotta colours. Good shot.
Aubrey

Hi Lars

Hi Lars,
Like an Impressionist painting. Not only are the reflections alluring, but the pastel like hues really make the shot special, contrasted with the deep blue of the water. Very fine work, Lars. Its a keeper.
John

Yes, I like it, Lars; it is always a simple and direct photo, but I like the result with good reflections and good general result; i would crop perhaps a little bit of the top - below the tyres, but this is just my opinion. Good work, anyway!

Hi Lars,
It is interesting to see the building in this fluid form and I am particularly attracted to the soft pastel colours and the lovely composition. A refreshing shot indeed!! All the best.
