A visit with my bike but 2012, this picture comes out of my archive

This picture has been taken too Wippelgem Evergem, a small village on 8 km of Ghent and 8 km of the Netherlands border.

History;
The coach house before the castle.
The oldest found track dating from 1375 when the domain is called "Ten Hulle" wore. It was owned by the Ghent patrician Sander Cante and it was a "country castle" that drew its wealth from the surrounding fields and farms. Around 1400 the property was sold to the Gelloot Amman, a Ghent who had many possessions in North Wales (eg in Sleidinge, Oosteeklo ...) In 1435 the castle was transferred to the Alexandrina Amman who was married to John of Hembyze. Hembyze bore the title of "Lord of Comte" and therefore was entitled 'of Comte' ('of Braeckele') attached to the castle in 1605. To give an idea of the then atmosphere: in 1498 was the bailey leased to Christopher Tar Line for the annual rent of "9 pounds, 10 shillings, 4 bricks of butter, 200 eggs, 12 lakeizen, 4 amianthus and 100 bundles of straw" Upon the death of Joos van Braeckele in 1605 the property went to his in-laws, family Triest. Adriaan Triest sold the domain 7 years later to French du Quesnov who in turn sold back in 1625 to Esquire Hubert Francies Pieter Nieuwland for the sum of "£ 1300 size".

Hallo John,
Een prachtige foto van dit huis op deze zomerse dag. Frisgroene bomen, een mooie blauwe lucht en een aantrekkelijk zonlicht maken de foto uitstekend. Goede compositie ook, leuk om het torentje links op de achtergrond te zien.

Hello John,
This is a good view of the coach house that includes the pond with ducks (?) happily swimming. Is the edifice with the tower in the distance the castle?
Merry Christmas,
MT

Hello John,
It's a well balanced and beautifully clear and sharp photo. The building is impressive and it is placed in very nice surroundings. The road, the low wall and the river all lead us into the composition, up to the building. The clouds lead us even further, into the distance.
Kind regards and Merry Christmas,
Gert

Hello John,
You have made good use of the wall as a lead-line directing our attention towards the attractive looking coach house. The path on the left leading toward the church spire adds to the sense of perspective. The whole is ideally exposed and benefits from excellent colours and clarity.

Ciao john, great view of fantastic house, superb sky, wonderful natural colors, excellent clarity and splendid light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hello John,

Like many old houses that have survived to modern times, this house has had many different owners, who probably all added to it or altered it a little, to suit the styles of the day.
It looks a beautiful house now, large and spacious, with many windows to admit the light.
I like how you have used the gravel pathway and the brick wall to channel us from the f/g to the focal house, where it sits well within the greenery of trees and lawn. The pond is a pleasing addition.
THe exposure is sharp and the colours perfectly natural.

May I wish you and your family a very happy Christmas,
Bev :-)

Hi John
An impressively composed shot with depth leading to centre of attraction - quite grand looking edifices, full of lively colours backed by some lovely clouds to lend the extra boost. Contrast and clarity are just subtle of a well organised shot nicely presented and thanks to your good historical narrative, Congrats.

Best wishes to you and your loved ones, Happy Christmas
Best regards

Fine summer daylight that brought out wonderful colors, John.
The place has charm, simply built but looks neat, and the canal (or pond) near added to its serene environment.
Good afternoon and happy holiday,
Ike

Hallo John,

There used to be Cobb & Co stagecoaches in Brisbane in the 19th century. Good sharpness and nice reflections at right. Excellent color and saturation. The angled red brick fence adds linear perspective. Tfs!
