As I promised, today I show you some of the rock paintings in the caves of the natural park of Los Haitises.
The most important are in the Cueva della Linea, and this, the richest one, is known as the big chemistry panel.
This cave is the most important of the park in relation to the rock art that it contains. It is located in the Cano Prison area, on the edge of an extensive mangrove. The name of cave of the Line or the Railroad derives from the existence of an old railroad in its surroundings that served to take to a dock the production of rice of the zone. The cave has a development of about 600 meters and observes the sunlight throughout the course. In a survey we did some years ago, in addition to topography of the cave, we were able to count more than 950 paintings still visible, although the cave had to contain many more, since many zones are observed with evidence that the paintings that contained, in Mostly due to natural causes.

ARTE RUPESTRE

Lisa

Ciao caro Luciano,

It has long been a dream of mine to find something really important with regard to history ... I think that's why I enjoy metal detecting. To be e first to discover something like this must be mind blowing!

You have done well to get such a clear photograph from the inside of the cave. I can imagine the pleasure you had exploring the cave and deciding upon a viewpoint to get the best images to share with others.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Ciao Luciano Those drawings transport my imagination in some nonadic camping place of the cave age when people could'nt write and used symbols to communicate. Thanks for showing such interesting voyage back in the time machine. Saluti

Hello Luciano,
The pictographs on the wall of the cave are very well documented in this photo. Sharpness and textures are fine, well done!

Good morning,
It's amazing that those are still in good shape. May look silly nowadays but there are good clues about our history on Earth. Well taken.

Hello Luciano,

Interesting petroglyphs all with their own unique style. Good sharpness with effective tight framing and no wasted space. The birds seem to be a popular subject but there are a couple of angry looking gods. Tfs!

Hi Luciano

Saludos
Pedro

Hello Luciano
It is always fascinating to see the work of our ancestors. Especially from the time they invented art. Also astonishing how modern their artworks seem to be.
Beautiful work, Have a nice day. Groet Rob

Hi Luciano
A peek into the past and a nice record shot - much like the Bushmen rock paintings with fairly good definition and natural colours. Nice capture.
Best regards

Ciao Luciano
Buona domenica
Carlo

Hello Luciano,
You captured these old drawings well in the probably dark cave. The pictures are very interesting and make me believe I could have seen similar figures in an exhibition of surrealistic artists.
Kind regards,
Gert

Ciao Luciano,

Your note is a very good addition to the photo. I imagine they used mainly charcoal to draw the petroglyphs, but do you happen to know how old they are?

Warm regards,

Bulent

Hello, Luciano!

I saw these interesting paintings there, but I couldn't take any photos there with so many people in the group and little time... You captured it well, with good light and sharpness! Beautiful job!
