A full view of a part of one of the most important caves of this national park,i will show the Taino's pictographs soon.
There are many caves in the Parque Nacional Los Haitises created by water erosion. The Taínos, the nation that inhabited the island of Hispaniola before Columbus arrived here in 1492, left a total of 1042 known pictographs in the park; 950 of them are in the Cueva de la Línea (a.k.a. Cueva del Ferrocaril or Cueva del Templo).
Los Haitises National Park is is located on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. It is a protected and unpopulated virgin forest with a large bird population. The origin of this unique landscape goes back to a limestone seabed formed in the Jurassic period around 200 million years ago. Gradually, the plateau was lifted from the sea. Over time, rain eroded the limestone mass to form this classic karst scenery, leaving behind conical hills (mogotes). The many islets along the coastline of Samaná Bay are such mogotes whose surrounding sinkholes are submerged; they typically reach a height of 30-40 meters above the water level. Further inland, these conical hills can reach a height of 200–300 meters (650–1000 ft).

luciano

interesting view of the interior of the cave. I liked the way you pout the sunlight focus in evidence and the personages adding scale to the compo. TFS.

Hello Luciano,
Excellent light management to capture the interior of this amazing cave system. Superb rendering of the colours and textural detail. Fascinating note.

What a sight !! that's reminded me of the one giant cave shown from Israel's Bell-cave, Luciano.
The lady gave good scale to appreciate the inside "hall", and shining outside light was like a torch illuminating inside.
Buona Domenica,
Ike

Hello Luciano,
What a beautiful photo of this impressive cave. The shapes of the rocks are beautiful and there are so many wonderful textures and colours on the rocks too. You handled the light perfectly and the two people are well included as well.
Lars

Ciao Caro Luciano,

Thank you for the interesting notes that accompany your photograph and give an insight into what we are seeing.
This is a remarkable photograph, especially without a tripod. On Beta it is possible to see the every notch, bump and depression, every colour change on the surface of the cave interior. I am so glad that you were able to include some figures for they confirm the scale of this gigantic cave.

Have a lovely Sunday,
Bev :-)

Hello Luciano,

Nice portrayal of this spectacular place, I like how the light shine in the place.

Bravo et belle journée

Hello Luciano,
The walls of this cave have fantastic shapes and colours, looking a bit like abstract art. The light is streaming through the opening very nicely and the lens flare has a fine effect. The couple standing there add life and dimensions and are important to the composition.
Kind regards,
Gert

Caro Luciano

Ahhhhhh! Niente. Applauso.

Un abbraccione e buona domenica

Hello Luciano,

Nice inclusion of the 2 people by the sunlit entrance. The light in the hole is illuminating the dark cave. Good sharpness and the patch of yellow green algae on the wall at left contrasts well with the blue rays of light at right. Tfs!

Ciao Luciano,
I like the effect created by the bright ball of light shining under the opening of the cave. It looks like a very interesting place, and the people show scale and add a splash of color. Nice presentation. I like the texture of the rocks, too.

Hi Ciao dear Luciano

Very appealing and also imaginative image as your own originality. Light control and exposuresetting makes this dramatic image as such, great job!

Hello Luciano, Interesting note about this big cave. It looks like a big hole. Tainos lived also in Cuba, even the name Cuba comes from their language. Good inclusion of the couple for scale.

Kind regrads Malgo

Hello Luciano,
Excellent clarity and view of the different colours of the rocks in the cave.
The entrance to it may seem small but the room in the cave looks very large.
Nice effect of the light coming in from the small round opening.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Luciano, you have managed the light with great skill, so that we are able to see the many layers of the eroded rock.
I love the subtle colours and the textures created by the water.
As always, the presence of people helps us with the understanding of scale.
Beautiful.
Regards Jean.

Hi Luciano,
Muhteşem bir ışık.
Etkili fotoğraf.

Ciao Luciano,
Bella foto della grotta
ottimi colori e bella nitidezza,
sembra un quadro artistico,
cari saluti,

Ciao Luciano
Buona domenica
Carlo

Hello, Luciano!

Very nice capture of this beautiful cave, with excellent light management and texture of the stones! I didn't have time there to use my tripod, so I couldn't get the details like that. But the tour through this park was wonderful! Very nice job!

Hi Luciano
how much time do you spend at beach vacations!? haha, you certainly love the warm climate areas! I think you need to book a holiday in Northern Norway in December haha :)

its neat looking at all the various formations and striations, and colors in the stone, its actually quite attractive, more than I thought I would. cool post. cheers
Craig

Ciao Luciano,
very interesting cave and a fantastic presentation of it. The processing emphasized the texture of the cave surface and its incredible folds.
Nice addition of people which helps to feel the size of the cave and adds some life here. The opening with strong light coming through is literally a highlight here.
Great that you show less obvious scenes from this tourist destination.
Fantastic work,
M

Bourgiono Luciano,

You are very lucky that only two visitors were in the cave when you took the shot, as if you own that cave ^_^

Given the poor lighting conditions in the cave and the fact that you are able to pic the detail of the rock so well, it is really really applaudable, Bravo

Excellent POV and interesting narrative

Ciao
Ralf
