This is a continuing of the previous post. If the US Capitol is famous building, so you can not often see this Town Hall from the capital of Sri Lanka.

The Town Hall of Colombo is the headquarters of the Colombo Municipal Council and the office of the Mayor of Colombo. Built in front of the Viharamahadevi Park, Colombo, Sri Lanka, it is the meeting place for the elected municipal council.
The foundation stone was laid on May 24, 1924, by Mayor of Colombo T. Reid, CCS, and the work was completed in 1927. Designed by S. J. Edwards, it was originally meant to house the office of the mayor and the council chamber, and as a venue for functions requiring a large ballroom.
Today it houses the administrative staff of the municipal council. Its garden is the venue for many events.

Hello Serghei,

A diagonal view of Town Hall at Colombo in Sri Lanka, very nicely shot it with soothing lighting condition, good composition and perfectly placed the dome of the hall in this frame, well done.

my warm regards and have a great sunday,

swapankumarroy

Hello Serghei
a fascinating shot this, instantly thought it was in the USA! It looks like it has been freshly painted and is in immaculate condition too! An impressive looking Town Hall by any standards and captured superbly.

Enjoy your weekend - B.

Your face seems to be appearing on TE a lot lately old chap, especially in the workshops of the 2 other members of the now famous "Perm-trio". B.

Hello Serghei,
This is a smart follow-up to the Capitol Hill photo. Only the flag and the scooter rickshaw tell us this is not the US (or UK). It's a neatly composed photo from a good angle and a well managaed tropical light.
Kind regards,
Gert

Bonjour Serghei,

J'aime beaucoup le contraste entre le blanc immaculé de ce superbe bâtiment et le ciel. Le dôme est vraiment très beau sous cette lumière en diagonale.

Bon samedi

Serge

Howdy Serghei,

Attractive view of the Colombo Town Hall's Georgian/Romanesque architecture with the huge front columns, and the ever-popular dome supported by columns, and enhanced in brilliant white.

Well done,
Cheers,
Ray

PS: I am interested in the name of the magazine with your YNP article. If possible on the internet?

Hey Serghei,

This looks like a giant miniature...if that's even possible!? lol

It seriously looks like one of those small, plastic pieces which is a part of a proposed architectural building project. It's clearly to scale though, and quite striking with its stark white color. The few people in passing help give a good sense of its actual size.

Clear and precise, the relatively minimal design is still an impressive sight. Hope all is going well. Take good care my friend.

Cheers from Phoenix,

Jason

I guess I'm naïve about Sri Lanka but this building look so magnificent and imposing for that country, learn something new everyday in TE. Nicely captured with good lighting and sharp details. Well done, Tfs.

Hello Serghei

Unusual to see this vestige of the old British colonial presence in Ceylon now known as Sri Lanka. Looks like a mini St Pauls cathedral in London. Good exposure on the bright highlights with superb sharpness. The people add scale. Tfs!

Priviet Serghei, Not as famous as the Capitol in DC buit also beautiful. Wonderful example of colonial architecture. Excellent presentation, not easy to show such a big white building.

Warm regrads MAlgo

Hi Serghei,

The tight frame is putting the building in evidence. The point of view is showing the details of the architecture of the town hall of Colombo. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

capitols are usual in American towns and in the Spanish part of latin America, not in brazil. I am surprised that Colombo has one. very nice details and shapes. I liked the simplicity of the building, even using the style. excellent angle and quality of image. beautiful and well done.
