Mysore - A safe place for an afternoon nap

My main picture is taken in the centre of Mysore where this man found a safe place to take a nap in the afternoon.
For sure it was a safe place. He was guarded by many nandis.

In the workshop two more street scenes.
On New Statue Circle many horse carriages are waiting for visitors.
And another scene that I only saw once on my journey. A whole group of men all dressed in black. No idea of the meaning. When viewing my photos after the trip, many questions still remain.

Hello Paul,
Seeing someone taking a nap in the street happens all the time in India, but it's rare to see someone so nicely surrounded by beautifully painted nandis. Bright and interesting compositions seem to pop up everywhere in front of you in India. Almost every glimpse from the streets looks amazing to Western eyes. It's also common to see little accidents in the street as in the WS, but it's perhaps more common that cows, goats or dogs create the accidents. As for the men in black I also have no idea and can't recall seeing anything like that. It most probably has a religious significance, but understanding all expressions of religiousness in India is very difficult.
Have a nice weekend.

Hello Paul,

Oh, the sleeping man adds a whole new scenario to this delightful and colourful picture. I wish I could translate the sign, that might have added a touch of humour, too!
I love the colours that can be found in India, there is no subtlety, just vibrancy. I get the feeling that ancient Egypt was colourful, like this, too.
You've composed this nicely, so that the cows funnel attention to the steps, which lead directly to the sleeping figure.
The w/s continue the magic that is India.
I suspect that the men in black are part of some religious group or ceremony. You don't tend to see men in long clothes otherwise.

Have a lovely w/e,
Bev :-)

Ciao Paul, lovely composition with beautiful sculptures, wonderful colors, fine details and excellent clarity, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Bonjour Paul,

Bien protégé par toutes ces vaches sacrées, il pourra prendre un repos bien mérité surtout qu'il semble faire bien chaud. L'ombre c'est souvent le bonheur.

Hello Paul,

I often used to see people sleeping or resting in the most unusual places such as a single wooden plank that most of us would find very uncomfortable. The colorful cow statues add place and context. Tfs!

Wonder how it would be possible to fall asleep with the abundance of colors of a beautiful place, statues and probably street tumult, Paul.
caught him red-handed...
A nice take, surely unexpected and not planned.
Have a nice weekend,

Hello Paul,
Another perfect capture and TE entry in your gallery taken with perfect pov and sharpness. Very nice bright and eyecatching colors.
Nice the mad at the center deep in sleep without taking care the crowds around him.
TFS and best regards

what could I say for this photo???
nothing because sometimes one photo
is one thousand words

Ciao Paul

Hello Paul.
Magnificent and nice photo of this man sleeping in the shadow of the temple, surrounded by the three Nandis, who bring a beautiful chromatism to the composition, ideal also the image of the temple in the WS and really timely the moment the horse dirty the street.
A fantastic photo, with beautiful natural colors, very good lighting and excellent sharpness.
Well done. I love.
Enjoy, Sunday.
Very best regards.

P.S. Yes, good weather in the Baltics, sometimes with a cardigan and quite cool nights.

Dag Paul,

Mooi foto werk, Bedankt.

Prettige zondag,

Hello Paul, at the right place at the right time, in order to capture this dozing man surrounded by the nandis.
It is a very colourful picture. The statues are in very good repair.
Thanks for sharing, the sleeping man really does complete the scene.
Regards Jean.

Il y a un côté amusant du monsieur endormi comme protégé par les nandis, les couleurs sont superbe, intéressant jeu ombre et de lumière
belles versions en WS
Bonne journée

Hello Paul,
This is a very colorful street scene. Interesting, he has made himself quite comfortable, he even took off his sandals in preparation fro a nap. I find it intriguing that the writing on the wallis in Arabic letters.
