This is another Cell Phone photo. It doesn't happen very often, but once in a while I get the urge to pull out my phone and take a shot.

You're looking at the famous Amer Fort, a must see when in Jaipur.

Simple scene really, I wish there was a funny story to go along with it, but not this time. The two locals walking down the steps made the moment stand out for me.

In the WS are two more cell phone shots.
Hope you like it, thanks for looking

Hello Craig,
in our days, mobile phones have exceptional qualities making very intriguing photos like this one.I like the impressive view of the famous Amer fort with the native women as the tourists to add life in the scene.
Excellent presentation.

Hi Craig,
Nice photo with interesting and beautiful architecture, well composed and good timing with these ladies and these colored clothes, nice colors, perfect light and sharpness, tfs.

Hello Craig,

Why not, now the cameras in cell phones are very good. I have all the time the heavy camera on my neck but I take pictures with Nokia Lumia. It is more fun, I see the result at once, on a bigger screen, with good colors. But then I have two series of pictures and to see all of them at home is a disaster. Excellent picture, the stairs on the diagonal lead us to the entrance, nice view of the two women in the sari, two guys and two dogs. The pictures in WS are also very good.
I remember well this Amer Fort. I went there on an elephant and later met Pixel Terror. What memories!

have a nice day

Hello Craig ,
But why do we need expensive DSLR ? ;)
The quality of this picture is outstanding , in term of details , sharpness , exposure ...
Also the composition is great with splendid architecture and the smiling women in colorful clothes perfectly placed on the stairs .

Hello Craig,

I am surprised that you have held on to this photograph for so long. It's an interesting photograph and beautifully composed to make the best use of every feature and figure. The others hots are interesting for their content but this is the classic. Those two ladies, in colour co-ordinated clothes give such power to the scene, in a setting which is already remarkably strong!

Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)
(Will process more shots from Knaresborough, showing the viaduct, in the near future.) 😉

Hello Craig,
A great photo of the fort, excellent composition and you included the steps very well in the foreground, it leads our eyes so nicely up to the impressive architecture. The warm light was most appealing too. The two ladies in their brightly coloured clothes as well as the dogs sleeping in the shadows at left are well included in the foreground. The quality of your cell phone photos is superb too.

Hello Craig,
I see there are other locals just dozing off on the steps, not going anywhere. The young ladies are well placed and made as good reason as any for a photo. The Fort is quite impressive but this is mainly about the composition and the balance of the photo. The colours and sharpness are very nice too. I very rarely use my cell phone to take photos, since the only "real" camera I carry is so small and handy.
Best wishes,

Quelle rampe d'escalier avec ces personnes habillées tout en couleur le chien qui se reposent à l'ombre du mur et quel édifice au sommet quelle architecture et tonalité sueprbe.
Bravo et amitié

Hello Craig,
Cell phones have their purpose and most modern ones now incorporate more than acceptable photographic capabilities. You have made very good use of yours here to create a very nice composition. I like the point of view looking up the steps toward the fort and the presence of the two ladies in the right foreground with the two sleeping dogs adding a touch of humour on the left. Very good technical quality. There was one temple on my last trip to India, where photography using normal cameras and video was not allowed but cell phone photography was. A bit bizarre, but I was very glad I had my cell phone with me.

Hello Craig,

I wouldn't tell its a cellphone shot. Rather like a travel dairy from the National Geographic. Its also features some KodaChrome like colours. The girls are the cherry on the cake.

Best Wishes,

Very attractive scene from that amazing part of the world. Nowadays, the smartphones are taking great pictures but, as a photographer, is hard to accept it.

Bonjour Craig,

Ce n'est pas difficile de croire qu'il se vend de moins en moins de caméra dite professionnel quand on voit la grande qualité de cette photo prise avec un téléphone. Bien joli moment pris sur le vif et parfaitement réalisé.

Hello Craig.
Superb perspective with the stairs, which guide the look to the splendid building of Amber fort, an ideal architecture and so different, the two women who come down with their saris, are a good bonus of color.
Very nice color, which together with the good sharpness and optimal lighting, gives great quality to the image.
Well done. I like very much
You have a good day.
Very best regards

Hello Craig,
Three wonderful pictures combining the beautiful Amber Fort with the colourfully dressed residents of India.
They're all three very nice but I really like the one in the WS with all the women sitting on the stairs.
I had forgotten a bit how Rajasthan looked like because it is so different from where I was last winter. Your pictures here bring back my Rajasthan memories and make me want to go back.
Excellent sharpness, depth and composition.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Craig, this is the post of the day on TE,no doubts. Your phone works very well as i can see,and your eyes too. And the 3 results coming from this friendship are amazing. 2 magnificent perspectives and a curious diagonal made by the people on the staircase, very well done! Have a nice evening and i hope that now your health problems are gone. Luciano

Most times we see the Amer-Fort pictures from a different POV, FCraig, so I find this very useful POV.
Never been to India, but get to learn from TE posts.
Excellent idea for a swift action photography, added the two ladies eachj wear a colorful sari, that looks the same at foirst - but still different.
Have a nice friday,

Hello Craig

The camera is not so important! Nice framing with the 2 indian ladies whose sarees match the fort color, and the perspectuveof the stairs lead our eyes to detail it

Hello Craig,

Your group picture with all ladies with a smile is amazing.
But the man in background look not pleasant to you.
Three fantastic pictures.
A nice composition and lovely presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

Have a nice weekend,

Hello, Craig!

Except for specific situations (like in night shots, as one of my last photos) a cell phone is nice to take good photos, as you show us here. Light, colors and sharpness are excellent here, showing us the beautiful architectural details of this temple, with the presence of the people giving more life to the scene! Beautiful job!

Hello dear Craig and have a nice time
and a happy new day and happy weekend
in our days a cell phone is too often
and has the best quality it is very nice
to take photos by this way and look at
the taken photo immediately
here this shot is unique
photo bringing memories from the past
many years ago do not hope that it will like to us
really I loved it

Hello Craig
I must confess that I find the people on these three pictures more interesting than the famous Amer Ford. The building and the surroundings need to be refurbished and fortunately they started doing that. But the people give opportunity to create your own idea what they are doing exactly here.
Excellent series.
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Hello Craig,
Your cell phone takes great photos; then again, with a less-skilled photographer the outcome might be a lot different. :-) The fort is beautiful, and so are all the earthy colors. The two women in the foreground were captured at just the right time. Nice one. :-)

A very well composed photo and the quality is perfect, nice scene on stairs (with a sleeping dogs too :)), very well captured
regards Ryszard

Hi Craig,
great pic. The two ladies in colorful saris make a lovely foreground but there are also dogs and the staircase which adds to the geometry and leads the eye to the palace. The architecture itself is splendid but you have presented it in an attractive way.
I wouldn't guess it is made by a phone. I think I will buy a new phone soon also because my old one has a scratch and may break anytime. I am not going cheat on my camera but I suppose sometimes there are opportunities for which you have no time to get the camera etc.
Great work!!

Ciao Craig
tre belle foto, mi piace molto anche quella del gruppo seduto sugli scalini, ma questa foto è composta molto bene, la prospettiva degli scalini si apre verso la splendida architettura e la macchia di colore fornita dalle due donne è posizionata molto bene.

Hi Craig, a great point of view using the full width of the steps to lead us up towards the Fort.
The inclusion of the two ladies in their bright attire really adds to the scene, and wearing saris, we recognise that it is probably India. And they are looking at you, which adds to their charm.
The other two shots are interesting, but I think that you chose the best for your main post.
Regards Jean.

Hello Craig,

Missed this one. The sleepy dogs in the shade of the steps add a focal point. Good sharpness and the bg building with its scaffolding provides an excellent focal point. The 2 fg woman in their saris add a splash of color. Tfs!

Hi Craig,

The presence of the people is animating the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the Amer Fort. The light is giving good colours output. Have a nice day.

Hello Craig,
It goes to show you that cell phones can take just as fine photos as full-fledged cameras - under the right conditions. I like the colors, the perspective, the architecture and the authentic attire in your frame. In short, I like it all!

Hi Craig,
3 lovely photos of India. Quite typical with the brightly dressed women, the animals left to their device, the western tourists of course, the derelict surroundings, the group of visitors, the bamboo scaffolding...
Very good quality photos for a cell phone.
