This particular edifice is located in the compound of the Vittalaswami Temple-Complex at Hampi,the erstwhile PAMPAPURI,which had been the capital of the
immensely wealthy and fabulous Medieval Hindu kingdom
of Vijayanagara. The Vittalaswami Temple with its
musical-pillars in its prayer-hall and the artistic
finess and grandeur of the temple-sculpture and subtle carvings fully demonstates the veracity of what
Dr.A.L.Basham claims in the title of his book--------
"The Wonder that was India".
