An impressive statue of Pharaoh Thutmose III taken inside the Luxor Museum. (1479 BC to 1425 BC.) The air conditioned building was a welcome change from the 48c heat in the shade outside. Here's a full body shot of the same statue and some information from Wikipedia

Excellent light and colors.
Well done.
Good evening.

Bonsoir Chris,

Le cadrage serré met la statue en évidence. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la statue de Thutmose III. La lumière environnante fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne soirée.

Hi Chris. There is the Mona Lisa smile and then there is the equally ambiguous Thutmose smile. He seems to know things we do not. Excellent photo which ha brought a stone statue to the verge of animation as he stands with one foot slightly in front of the other (I presume.)He is happy to be in the cool museum as well. Lovely light on his forever young face. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Chris,
Perfectly photographed, excellent sharpness and brightness management, nice result, tfs.

Hi Chris
Excellent "portrait". I love the low key effect and the play of light and shadow. Your technique contributes to the mood of the image.
Best wishes
Kasia

I hope that all the nice statues can remain subsist.
We know all that much history the last years much are destroyed
Also, the light and colours are fantastic photographed.
Nice composition and presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

Have a nice weekend,
John.

Good morning Chris,
Superbly managed the low light inside the museum, and show great close-up of the monumental ancient statue.
Clear and distinct picture, even some "face-expression" of it that I can imagine...
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello Chris,
A wonderful capture this, perfectly illuminated with superb colours and detailing. A masterpiece in all senses of the word.

Hello Chris,

The skill shown by the early sculptures is amazing and you have revealed that skill by this excellent, sharp, close-up of the the statue.
Lighting conditions in museums are not usually good for photographers but you have coped well and captured this statue so clearly that it has a 3D appearance.

Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)
