Hehe, this is funny after reading your note. These signs are plastered all over my apartment complex. :) I assume it is because of the asbestos. One place is on my ceiling. Apparently popcorn ceilings from buildings in the seventies and earlier are almost assured to be made from asbestos.
Modern parking garages also apparently use asbestos even today for insulation.
The rainbow of colors and bold signs really capture the essence of a carnival perfectly. The shadows are spooky! What are they actually? How can they be? To me it looks like the devil himself telling a little boy something, but what? Instructions to do something? A warning?
Wow, I bought that doll (gray one in the middle) in Tokyo last month!
The funny thing is, I think it's possible to open that lock with a pen cap! See this thread for more info.
Very interesting shot. I like how the straight geometric reflection of the bright yellow window turned into a semi-chaotic twist on the sloped bench.
Having lived in Emeryville last year, it's nice to see some shots from there. As for being stopped, I believe there were a couple of bombs that went off at Chiron in Emeryville last year, having been set off by a radical eco-terrorist group, which would explain the jumpiness by the security guards.
The background is great, as is DOF; I like how the tree branches frame the image at top left. To me, the tall bluebell is having an animated conversation with the weed (?) about something. :)
Wow, this is really majestic in LP view! The large rock formations at right contrast nicely with the man-made bridge at left.
Incredible shot which works pefectly in black and white, especially the metal bridge connecting poster and photographer.
Nice, clean shot, I like the close framing to add punch to the overall scene.
This is a case of the thumbnail not doing proper justice to the actual image. I never saw grasshoppers with such vivid colors like that before! The contrast between their orange/black color and the green leaves is powerful, and I like the crispness of the the part you focused on as well. Nice one!
